Following potential 2015 draftees

I don't hate Looney as much as almost everyone else does and tbh I'd be fine with it if we picked him. There's a very small chance we get a star or something at #12 and I'd be ok with just bolstering the bench with really good players.

San Antonio and Golden State have elite benches. The Spurs' starters were outscored by 21 in the Finals last year and their bench outscored the Heat by 89. Their starters were outscored by 90 in the WCF vs the Thunder last year and their bench outscored the Thunder by 162. The Clippers' starters have outscored the Spurs' starters by a combined 93 points this series, but their bench has been outscored by 104.

I think Boston even has a great group of 6th through 12th men and that's what won them all of those games after the all-star break. I think this is the way Ainge, who is considered one of the best GMs in the league, is building his team as well. But their problem right now is that their starters aren't that much better than their 6th-12th men, so they're gonna go after a superstar with all of their assets.

Golden State has the #1 bench in the NBA and they also has a bunch of bench players above 6ft7 who can switch 1 through 5 on defense. I think this is more of the way that Lindsey is building the team. If Exum becomes a really good player (who knows how big that "if" is), the starting 5 is set. Round that out with an elite bench and you have a contender.

I have a strong feeling the Pacers will take Oubre. He has similar potential to Paul George and Bird was the one who picked George so it's not really far fetched that they would pick Oubre.

Myles Turner. That is who they will take.

So Locke watched Oubre and he likes him. Said he has a natural feel for the game and likes his lefty shot. Just fyi.

Is Alford a really bad coach... I saw none of that this year at UCLA. I'd be fine with Looney at the 12 but he was basically a rebounder dunker this year. Hit his outside shots but took so few of them.

He looks like he's a foot talker than everyone in this video.

There was some talk that the coaching and guard play at UCLA held him back, but I honestly can't say for sure.

When I watched a couple games this year he looked bad or was just a rebound putback guy. I don't think he is a 3 like some say but if his 3 shooting translates over a large sample size and he can put the ball on the floor I think he could be an excellent stretch 4... I see the defense, rebounding, and potential.

His guards were bad. If he's there at 12 the risk/reward seems about right. We'd also have some minutes available at his position so that would help development.

wow they also have the jazz getting Tyler Harvey in the second that would be a steal

Not very athletic mid major undersized 2 guard. Career will most likely mirror Jimmer.

His numbers and highlight reels look incredibly impressive. I have no idea why he's so low on draft boards. He shoots it off the dribble incredibly well which is very rare, he's shot >43% from 3 in 3 seasons in a row on a ridiculous number of shots(9.3 per game last season). His numbers are very close to Curry in college(and he wasn't in a big college either). (I haven't watched full games so all I'm doing is stat matching and watching highlight reel). He looks really crafty and skillful and I wouldn't say his athleticism or size are Jimmer level really, seems much more bouncy and quick, also... he's listed at 6'4''...

Anybody knows what's the knock on him and why is he not projected higher? Defense? I wonder how he'd measure in the combine. If he's indeed 6'4'' with a good length and nice athleticism I feel like we can take a flyer on him with our first second rounder or even trade up our second rounder to go and get him.

Little older... Will basically be 22 at time of draft. Small school crappy competition. Undersized for a 2 guard and a defensive liability. But....

If you can shoot like that you have a chance... In the second round go ahead and take a swing. Chad ford had a question in his chat today about him. Thinks some scouts haven't watched him enough or caught him on bad nights.

The thing is he's listed at 6'4''... it's a bit lower than ideal, but I wouldn't say it's massively undersized.

Yeah it will depend on wingspan standing reach... He is in the range where you would call him a combo guard

Not only would Looney supply us with a stretch 4, but also someone who can defend stretch 4s. I definitely think he would be an important cog that we currently seem void of. Booker kind of does those things, but not to the degree that I expect Looney to.

Portis looks pretty solid defensively on the perimeter too in his DX video.

That's why he makes sense to me. Just don't try and make him a 3 and D wing. I know some think that is where he should go.

That's a good point... I kind of feel like with Tomic not being an option, we might be looking at getting a center, rather than stretch 4, though... Booker is actually surprisingly good at guarding stretch 4 types. I had the defensive shot chart and he seems to be doing a great job defending anywhere on the court, including up to the 3p line.

Yah, he's a solid defender, but not a great rim protector. I really like Portis... his NCAA tournament did him no favors and he might have dropped a bit in scouts' eyes, but I still like him. I love his motor and competitive spirit on the defensive end and his shot is good enough to stretch the floor for a NBA team.

He is more Seth than Steph.
