Following potential 2015 draftees

There are a lot of NBA players who have physical tools, that is why they are in the NBA.

Gerald Green was the 18th pick overall coming out of HS. Pretty sure he has succeeded career expectations usually associated with that draft slot.

Also, as I have questioned KKK many times, what basis do we have to question Oubre's work ethic? Oubre has been noted for his defensive improvement over the year, isn't that a testament to a "work ethic"?

I have a sense about these things. I hope I'm wrong, only time will tell.

Because I know him personally that's how. That has been the knock on him in some if the stuff that was published on him is that he floats a bit.

Was benched early in the year because he wasn't giving a good effort... Kind of says the guy might be lazy to me.

Gerald green was projected to be picked 5 or 6 and was a highly touted prospect. He didn't work early and then either matured or realized his dream was going down the drain and started working. That is a potential situation I think could happen to Oubre. That **** could also be over blown smoke and he turns out to be great.

You are such a bit picker on stuff man. Yeah these guys in the nba have physical tools but yes some have much greater tools... Oubre is in the second group. Exceptional length and good athleticism.

You know Oubre personally?

I'm "bit picking" because these aren't good comparisons. They are really general (and not even that accurate in their generalizations).

Givony impressed with Chris Walker.

Watched Chris Walker (Florida) work out at @IMGAcademy today. Was very impressed. Too early to close the book on him.

BTW, Gerald Green would be a more accurate comp for Chris Walker than he is for Kelly Oubre (talking about highly touted HS prospect with poor work ethic/attitude).

remember kkk's comparison with McLemore? ...Oubre with McLemore, that is.

How many different ways will kkk hedge bets on this pick?

Sarcasm... And auto correct.

How are they not good? It was asked who were guys that were athletic or gifted that didn't work out... I gave some guys who could, in general, be compared to Oubre's potential that didn't work out. Comps are difficult because players are all fairly different. I listed a few with similar physical profiles, or athletic gifts, that didn't pan out like we may have thought.

Please list more... I didn't pick apart your Lamb comp because he has waaaay less length than Oubre because I actually read the post and understood you were talking about the way lamb tends to float.

Go watch some Otto porter tape and come back when you are feeling less douchey.

There are plenty of guys who are good athletes, but don't make it as players. Being athletic isn't the same as having 'intelligent athleticism'---elite body control, feel, timing, nuanced movement, shooting touch, ability to adjust, etc.

Steve Nash wasn't fast, long or vertically explosive, but every move he made was efficient, had a purpose, and was effective at an elite level. John Stockton too in his day.

Guys who have elite tools and this kind of intelligent movement are potential All Stars. I think Mario Hezonja can be great.

Gerald green's problems weren't nearly as bad as Chris walker. And they have very different games... Not comparable at all.

Chris Walker would have been picked very high had he been able to come out of HS, then his problems would have arisen early on in his NBA career (much like Green). Wasn't comparing games.

Oubre has shown a willingness to work and sacrifice for his team in his 1st year (not attempting a lot of shots and playing his role, D'ing up), so I feel the Green comparrison is invalid.

??? I still insist they are similar in built, the way they play, not overly athletic, relies on their shooting a lot. Not great off the dribble game, etc, etc, etc.

BTW - when was the last time you had an opinion on anything NBA related other than just picking on other people here?
