Following potential 2015 draftees

Thanks... not too much new there, but the insight is appreciated.

Was just looking at basketball insiders Steve Kyler's Twitter feed. Hood is out at IMG working out with draft prospects (this was in some other twitter feeds as well). IMG is top notch and the dude is out there grinding with guys who are trying to get in the best shape of their lives to impress teams that could give them millions. It's only May... I'm impressed. Dude has skill and good athleticism... if this is how he's going to continue to work and prepare he could be amazing. Only pause I have is with his feet... hopefully it was a one time deal.

I think we might be set on the wing when healthy. I think one of the stretch bigs might have a better opportunity on our squad. One of Looney, Frank, Turner, Johnson (I think he can play the 4 Dray style), or Porzingis will absolutely be there when we pick. We are in a pretty good spot right now.

He said he wanted to be prepared for SL and that since he didnt play that much he wanted to remain in game shape until then and will take a break when SL is over that most dudes are taking now.

Like every good GM knows you'll never make a draft mistake by irrationally taking a guy based on his best outlier performance on a national stage.

Or a good GM says that Wisconsin was one of the slower/half-court teams in college and the NBA game would open up a lot for Dekker and he could be good. It's not like that is his only very good performance. Dude has had many throughout his career.

All P3 is for these dudes right now is combine training fluff. They workout specifically for the vertical and agility testing to wow scouts.

I think I'd take Kaminsky ahead of Looney. One of Oubre, Johnson, Kaminsky *should* be there at 12. No need for the Jazz to go Looney.

Why do you dislike Looney so much? All I've ever heard you say is you don't want him, but with no explanation.

Gut feeling having watched him a lot. I just don't see great skill that sets him apart from tons of other guys. I like him.. but NOT in the lottery.
I don't love Frank, but I see a much better translatable skillset.

I think Oubre has the right mix of length, quickness, skill and tenacity to be really good. I still like him ahead of Johnson.

My issue with Looney is lack of elevation at the rim. I just think he'll be an average scorer at best, and the Jazz need scoring.

I think Kaminsky is a bit of an odd duck, but he's got the shooting, passing and mobility to be effective as a back-up big.
