Following potential 2015 draftees

(everybody is gonna love ****ing love that Burks contract)

It's basically the equivalent of a mid-level contract in 2016. If he gets healthy he will outplay that deal under the new crazy cap. It's a year away from being a bargain.

Walt perrin said the jazz have tiered the draft to four players in the first tier, five in the second, and seven in the third. Who do you think they are? I think RHJ and Booker are in there.

Isn't Anderson a somewhat shaky shooter right now and 23 years old?
I don't know if the Spurs would be willing to compromise their spacing that much with such a player. They got their wing stopper in Leonard. The other backcourt guys basically have to have 4 attributes:
a) Shoot
b) Pass
c) Be able to attack closeouts
d) No Ottopilot defense

Chad Ford was talking yesterday that a few FOs love Porzingis but a lot don't... is it possible he drops to us? Do we pick him if he does?

Anderson worked very hard this past summer with his shooting and he mechanics got a lot better but nearing the end of the year he started to revert to his old form. While he was shotting properly he was a 40+% shooter. That tells me that he can be a good shooter with more reps in the offseason. I dont worry about his shot

1("locks" to make an allstar game at some point)
Towns, Okafor, D'Angelo(I always think of The Wire when I read his name), Mudiay
2("safe" picks, perceived limited ceiling going by their development the last years)
Winslow, Mario, Trillie, Stanley, Frank
3(upside guys, tier 3 because of perceived risk/uncertainty)
Porzingis, Turner, Booker, Oubre, Looney, Portis, Lyles

Do we have multiple first rounders? Or can we acquire a 2nd in the 16-22 range? What would it cost?

There's quite a few wings I like in the draft, I just don't see where they fit in the rotation. Hayward/Burks/Hood are a lock for serious PT next season. Unless a tier 2 guys falls to us, I'm squarely on the stretch big bandwagon.

Kaminsky, Lyles, Turner, Looney.

I am not sure we can afford keeping 2-3 rookies on the active roster and giving them enough time to develop. I think if we select more than 1 rookie, some of them will be stashed in Europe or sent to develop in the D-League.

I think there's too much overlap on the present roster. You need that elite wing defender, who's not a complete liability offensively(no Tony ALlen, unless you got 3 great shooter around him).
If Justin Anderson is that defender, try to grab him and have him play defense on a rookie tract.
Right now we have 3-4 very dominant backcourt ballhandler: Exum, Hayward, Burks and Burke in case he's still around. Hood has a chance to become a good jack of all trades player down the road. That's solid. But Burks to me doesn't fit the team. He's too ball dominant, too little interest in playing defense. I think you need one really good defender on the wing, who plays good rotation minutes and a solid backup for Exum to replace the ballhandling/playmaking you lose when sending the Burx away.

Crazy to think the Warriors want more shooting. Shows you what direction the league is heading. Shooting has become so valuable in the draft.

Not sure how they get Hunter though... Harrison Barnes trade? He won't be around at #30.
