Following potential 2015 draftees

I perhaps read a bit more into the quotation than is literally there, but since the whole point of the two paragraphs leading into that statement was about interviews, I think it's pretty good odds that the reference was to an interview. But it's possible there are other interpretations, as you say.

I also think it isn't mutually exclusive for the Jazz to have been disappointed by a Looney interview and for Looney to have given a nice quote to Tony Jones about meeting Jerry Sloan. Being disappointed with the interview is not necessarily a result of a poor attitude toward the team.

(Just so I'm not misunderstood, I'm not saying that the odds of Looney being a poor interview was high, just that I don't discount it as a possibility, and it would at least be consistent with his drop on Ford's board -- since it was the Jazz who had previously been his destination in Ford's mind.)

I get it and it was an interesting find... the reasoning was solid.

Based on his 1280 interview today, it sounds like Locke likes Looney and is real high on Lyles. Hes the media arm of the Jazz so if Looney didnt do well then i would think Locke would parrot that. Maybe not.

Yeah, kind of felt that vibe toward Lyles in Locke's video analysis of Oubre. Hope the Jazz are high on Looney -- he's one of my favorites.

Smoke and mirrors boys. There's much more disinformation getting put out there right now than there is good information. Good info doesn't start to leak until about a week before the draft. And all of it is gamesmanship IMO. Thankfully, DL is pretty good at this game.

Lyles doesn't play good defense and doesn't shoot 3's. I don't see us being very interested in him.

He's a good player who would replace much of what Kanter did for the Jazz, and he's a better ball mover. Nice plausible smokescreen at least.

Kaminsky is best player and best fit. That's who they will pick if he's there. Having said that, the one guy who would scare the **** out of me to pass on is Booker. The Klay is strong in that one.

I think Oubre is going to go higher than people are projecting. I think it's 50-50 he goes ahead of Johnson.

I think Portis might go end of the lottery--- 13 - 16.

Turner is also looking pretty good right now and is probably top 10.

The thoughts of a man who sees his pet player fall in the draft when everyone has realized he just isn't that good.

I like this post because you mentioned Johnson, Portis, and Turner. I'm sweet on them.

Turner and Booker have a lot of buzz right now. If both go before we pick I think we get Frank or Stan... Would be ecstatic with either.

See my comments to Cy re Lyles and Locke.

Yep, and the only reason for passing on him that I've heard is "it creates a logjam".

Booker could be fantastic. Hate to miss on that.

Locke hasn't seen many games of theirs. He's on the record saying he hates college basketball and doesn't watch it. He said he liked Lyles from what he's seen in the game vs Kansas in which he was 'scouting' Oubre. Wait for him to watch more of the prospects and lets see what he's going to say about them when he looks specifically into them...

Locke seems to question Oubre's motor a little in his review. Jogging back on defense a few times. He spotted this in Derrick Williams way back when and is one of the reasons he busted.
