Following potential 2015 draftees

It definitely look a lot quicker there

I don't really know if he's gonna be good. Just got give you crap.

My biggest qualm with him is he kinda weird with I play mad thing.

That shooting drill did not look good either. You gotta admit that.

He started off badly, but after he airballed the corner 3 I believe he makes 7/13 of the 3's.

I'd like to see the other PF prospects do the same, unedited drill just to see. I think we see these edited workout vids and just assume players never miss in practice. Sometimes you have bad shooting days, even in a drill setting.

I only neg post that are neg worthy. I don't care about disagreeing with me, but be smart about it. HH made a few good post and a few awful ones.

WC on the other hand, god damn son those are just awful.

Milwaukee is very shallow at the power forward spot, where they start Ersan Ilyasova, who is entering the last guaranteed year of his contract. Jabari Parker and Giannis Antetokounmpo are both combo forwards, while potential free agent Jared Dudley (player option) sees minutes there as well. Portis is more of a traditional 4/5 who projects to be able to space the floor, which is an absolute necessity with the non-shooting Michael Carter-Williams as the primary ball-handler. His toughness and aggressiveness will be welcomed by Jason Kidd.

What Givony? You agree that Portis is going to be a floor-spacer?

You can stretch the floor with 18 footers as well. He's going to have a hard time staying behind the three point line because his right foot sets up a ways in front of his left. He needs to fix that or he's gonna shoot a lot if long twos. Memos foot had the same problem but it wasn't as bad.

lol

Cy is just on a neg train for anybody disagreeing that Portis is the second coming of Ray Allen in the body of a PF. He has an UGLY looking shot. That is a simple plain fact that anyone who has ever watched basketball would agree with. I personally would be surprised to see him shoot above 30 % with this shot. Neg me for this Biotch!

Don't disagree with Cy he's always right. Lmao

Cy is just intense... Before he posts he imagines someone slapping his mom.

Can any of you uneducated people tell me that is a slow release?

I understand anyone questioning his ability to extend his range, that is a legitimate opinion. To say he has a slow release or has been a bad shooter is just flat out wrong.

He hits a nice 3 at 3:12.

But his shot is ugly, and the act of cocking his shot makes it look slow. Also, When shooting his feet drift towards the basket and his shoulders away from it. Lots of movement there, he needs to fix it.

LOL .... amazingly and inevitably every year there is 1 guy that Cy pimps that everybody goes "Huh????"

- Biyombo 2012

- Otto Porter 2013

- Aaron Gordon 2014

- Bobby Portis 2015

..... a GREAT crop of guys.

You don't have to be a great defender to be a top 10 player.

But your team better be able to play defense. Or you aren't going to win ****!

Harden could win a title with the right supporting cast. There is no doubt about that.

Curry is going to win a title because he has Bogut and Draymond to help play some defense. Without those two pieces I seriously doubt they'd win the championship.

Curry is a pretty good defender himself though. He's just not thought of being one. He was in the top 5 in steals. Even number 1 for a while. He plays hard and has a great motor.
Agree 100%

Was he being drilled on speed for that shooting drill? How bout you go watch some game footage.

His release looks plenty quick.
Hell his shot looks entirely different in this game than it does in that workout video. Looks much more fluid and much better form.

It's almost like he intentionally ****ed up his form and slowed his release way down for that suns workout.
Did he tank that workout? I mean he shot air ball with no one guarding him and he is going to be an nba player.

As much as I think Russell is the perfect fit for this team & would be willing to give up a combination of #12/Hood/multiple future 1sts in order to acquire him, I've finally come to the terms with the fact that it's not a realistic possibility. Instead, I think the priority should shift to moving up to #6/7 (assuming ORL doesn't take him- although they would if they were smart) for Hezonja. Now, I wouldn't include Hood in a trade to do so (unless it was straight up), but I would have no problem including Burks in the deal. I believe SAC is going to target 1 of WCS, Turner, or Porzingis to pair with Cousins, so it would probably come down to how highly DEN values him. With it looking like they are preparing to begin rebuilding, they may be willing to move down a few spots in order to pick up additional assets (although I'm not sure they would be willing to drop all the way down to #12, but maybe the would be willing to go to #10). My idea would be (as has already been suggested here) to trade #12/Booker to MIA for #10/McRoberts. If MIA was willing to do that, we could then trade #10/Burks or #10/GSW 1st/OKC 1st to DEN for #7 (as long as Hezonja is still on the board). This would give DEN additional assets for their rebuild & give us a potentially elite scorer plus plenty of cap room to fill out the rest of our roster. It may be an overpay but I think now is the time to be aggressive & attempt to acquire that last missing piece.

Solid post but trading 10 and Burks is too much and to risky.
Pretty good chance Burks will be as good as Mario (or better) and then you throw in the #10 pick as well.

I really really like Mario but that is a super risky trade imo
