I agree that I don't think the Jazz will trade up.
I am more aggressive in my approach that I would like the Jazz to take but I am sure that I am ignorant on realities. I see teams needing 3 stars to be competitive and I think Hezonja could fit one of those spots. If we could get Hezonja without giving up one of our foundation players (Gobert, Hayward, Favors) then I would do it. I really like Burks and Hood and I think they are going to have great years next year. But I don't see them being able to command the defensive attention to open up the floor that Hezonja could.
I would trade picks and include Burke and Burks to get it done. Of course, finding a trade partner is the trick.
But, the wise move is probably what the FO will do and that is be patient with the 12 pick. There are very good prospects that will be available at 12 without depleting our assets. GS proved that depth is critical and role players are important too.
This next year we are, if we avoid injuries, will get a full year out of Gobert, Burks and Hood. That will make a considerable difference in results this coming year.
I still hope we get a lower first round pick and pick up Rondae Hollis-Jefferson or Chris McCullough. Either one of those could be a real nice addition to the depth as role players that can develop.
