Following potential 2015 draftees

To don't have strongly negative opinions about most players in the Jazz's range, but Trey Lyles is ****ing garbage. A talented sleepwalking dope who has no particular strength and will fold. I'm hoping that Locke's weird homer boner is some kind of smokescreen or he might be the worst talent evaluator with a voice that I can think of.

explain this? Seems like a good guy never heard anything as far as on off court troubles. Seems smart and down to earth. Just curious where this negativity for Lyles comes from?

My question with Lyles actually is toughness. In playoff basketball when things get more fierce, is Lyles going to step it up. I can see that toughness in Portis.

Don't know how someone wouldn't want Oubre on the Jazz. His handle is clean, dribbles the ball low, shoots it well. His wingspan is crazy long and he's interchangeable with all the wing's they have now.

I like him better than Johnson and Winslow. Just think he's prototypical and his defensive length and instincts fit right in. You look at the impact that guys like Matt Barnes, Trevor Ariza and Andre Iguodala had in the playoffs. You look at Khris Middleton as a possible max contract guy. I like Oubre's tools better than those guys. It's just about work ethic and willingness to fit in.

I've said it before, but the length and quickness of Oubre and Exum on the perimeter combined with the length and quickness we have inside, could make the Jazz a buzzsaw defensively.

Seth Davis does this thing where he interviews 4 scouts and 2 GM's and they get to be anonymous. Obviously some of it could be smokescreen, but who knows. This is what they had to say about Oubre:
Kelly Oubre Jr., 6’7” forward, Kansas: “Kelly’s a real enigma in this draft. He’ll probably go right outside the lottery, but he’s still a long ways away from being a contributor at the NBA level. I want to like him, but I don’t trust his shot at all. He can’t guard anybody. Drove Bill Self out of his mind. Very intriguing athlete, but he doesn’t have any game off the dribble. He had a fairly disappointing season at a place where freshmen usually succeed.”

Oubre shot a good % from 3 and his form is beautiful. Idk if he was a consistent defender, but there were times when he absolutely wreaked havoc. His ability to create off the dribble is a legit concern, IMO, but I don't really agree with the shooting and defense part of that statement. His 3&D potential seems pretty obvious.

They're having a draft preview on NBATV and Dennis Scott had his top 3 shooters of the draft. RJ Hunter, D'Angelo Russell, and........Sam Dekker. u wot m8

He said something along the lines of "He made a lot of huge shots in the NCAA Tournament. That's an NBA shooter right there!"

Anyways, if the Jazz do take a big, I trust their decision no matter who it is. If you look at Utah's bigs they've drafted or acquired in the last decade or so, their track record is pretty damn good. The good ones off the top of my head: Boozer, Millsap, Big Al, Okur, Koufos, Favors, Kanter (say what you want about him, but for his age he's ridiculously talented offensively), Gobert.

I would be very happy with oubre to the jazz.

That step back j is sick

I'm firmly on the Oubre-Turner-Johnson bandwagon! If we get any of them I'd be happy!
Me too.

Johnson
Frank
Oubre
Turner.

Im happy with any of them

Don't want lyles, portis, dekker or looney

I'm starting to question whether Booker actually gets picked before the Jazz. We need someone to take Kaminsky.

Top 4: Towns, Okafor, Porsche, Russell

Next 4: Hezonja, Mudiay, Winslow, Johnson

Next 4: Oubre, Kaminsky, WCS... TURNER

If someone doesn't take Kaminsky or Booker ahead of us, we may very well be looking at Lyles, Dekker and Looney, among whom I would probably take Looney. Unfortunately, I think Turner goes ahead of Kaminsky.

I agree with your top 8. And at 9 I assume Charlotte takes either Booker or Oubre (unless they trade back - if Celts we're screwed).

10 - I dunno who Miami takes. Riley may want a more established player rather than a project if he wants to contend next year.

11 - No idea. Does he replace Hibbert with either WCS or Turner? or does he draft Payne instead of going big?
