Following potential 2015 draftees

Screw that. Sometimes momentary happiness in reveling over the misfortune of others is the way to go. This was definitely one of those times.

Yup. One of the sweetest moments on this season was seeing Kancer knock the Thunder out of the playoff race with his horrible awful no good very bad defense.

Thanks Lilo and Stitches!

I love our backcourt this year.

Ulis (little badass, period)
Briscoe (big badass, period)
Murray (tore up Nike Hoops Summit)
Mulder (JUCO transfer that shot around 50% from 3 last year and athletic freak)

add to those

a senior Alex Poythress (PF) finally playing in position (bad for opposing teams)
a sophomore Marcus Lee (PF/C)
#1 recruit and projected #1 draft pick (C), Skal Labissierre (think Anthony Davis)

and Matthews, Hawkins, Willis, and others..

Not as deep as last year.. but just as good, imo.

Would rather have Ben Simmons, fwiw.

I would be willing to trade #12 for #10 and Josh McRoberts.

Then at #10 take Stanley Johnson.

I been saying this for a while. Miami needs cap relief, to make the salaries match you throw in Booker whom they can release, and we get McBob's who is the perfect 3rd big for Snyder. Hell, I'd throw in the rights to Tomic since he's never coming to Utah (maybe in a miami uniform).

I feel worse and worse for being happy that OKC missed the playoffs :( They should have made it and we should have had their 2017 pick :\

2017 looks like a good draft, but that OKC pick won't be worth that much. The Jazz are better off having it conveyed in 2018 so they have multiple picks in both 2017 and 2018. That Let's them package picks in a blockbuster deal more easily since they can go multiple consecutive seasons.

Great trade for Portland if they're rebuilding, except for one thing:

I really really really really really dislike trades like this for the side that is acquiring the guy who barely played this year because you are taking the other team's word for why he wasn't contributing. Makes it a lot riskier. Basically, I just don't like huge information discrepancies in deals like this because it opens you up to trading for some really mediocre assets.

i just had a crazy thought what if tomic has said that he will come to the US but not the Jazz and he is part of the trade with the New York. I could see his agent (wink wink) talk to the knicks and say he will come over but they have to get his rights from utah.

Jazz planning for a late night. Big board is going up now. KOC and all the coaches have been in town for a week working on the draft. They brought back their European scout who had retired. Will continue tonight.

Jazz are agressivley pursuing every avenue for improving the team. But sometimes it takes another team to cooperate.

Upper management met with Millers yesterday to brief them on plans and strategy for the offseason.

Future draft classes factor into decisions for this draft.

Big board is not filled out completely, but it will be tonight. Then they leave it, sleep on it and look at it again in the morning. The different trade scenarios makes the board very fluid.***

Because of the preparation the Jazz feel the calm before the storm. They are ready. They are ready to move on multiple options. Some trading scenarios may already be worked out depending on what players are available. More could happen as the draft begins.

Even the four year players need development. Jazz need more shooting, need more production from the guards. Need help at the backups. The foreign players in this draft are very interesting, but the foreign Jazz players like Raul Neto are also being discussed for future plans.

*** This is very interesting to me. I thought the Jazz simply ranked the prospects in an ordered list. But apparently their board incorporates some method of Jazz ranking and some other measure that is impacted by what other teams are doing. What an interesting and dynamic system to assemble and maintain.
