Following potential 2015 draftees

Great trade for Portland if they're rebuilding, except for one thing:

I really really really really really dislike trades like this for the side that is acquiring the guy who barely played this year because you are taking the other team's word for why he wasn't contributing. Makes it a lot riskier. Basically, I just don't like huge information discrepancies in deals like this because it opens you up to trading for some really mediocre assets.

They are definitely rebuilding and I think they did well, considering. As for Charlotte, they should really consider going the Philly route of rebuilding. They are built on a flawed foundation as is, and aren't going anywhere until they rebuild the right way.

It's a question of just HOW badly Quin wants a stretch 4 to make his system work. I don't think they'd give up one of those players, but they might float just about everything else.

Which is why I think that nothing ultimately materializes and they settle for Turner and Kaminsky (in that order).

So in two seperate deals Charlotte acquired Nicolus Batum from Portland and Jeremy Lamb from OKC. Hornets gave up VonLeh, Gerald Henderson and Matt Barnes who was acquired from the Clippers last week as part of the Lance Stephenson Trade.

BUT NO DRAFT PICKS WERE EXCHANGED.

Charlotte still owns the 9th pick.

Hornets want to win now, so it seems. Why else pick up Batum. The good news here is that they may be more likely to pass on Oubre.

I heard rigby on the radio just now saying that the jazz worked out 103 dudes this year as that he thinks it might be the most any team has ever worked out.

Good job jazz guis

My guess is if the Knicks draft Porzingis, it's for the Jazz and the Jazz draft Kaminsky or Lyles it's for the Knicks along with additional assets.

“Honestly, I think Kristaps should be the No. 1 pick if you’re going to base it off potential,” Landry said. “I personally think he’s the best kid in the draft. And I’m not saying that because he’s a friend of mine.

“I know basketball. I’ve been in the NBA; I’ve been around NBA players. I’d tell you if he sucks. But he’s really good. If he goes beyond No. 2, that would be a mistake on some team’s part.”

“That’s very hard to do,” Landry said. “To me, there’s no one in the NBA like him. No one. But, if I had to compare him to anybody based on his potential, I would say — maybe he’s not going to fill it up as much — it would be Kevin Durant. He’s very much KD like.

“I know that’s saying a lot. But Kristaps can shoot over guys, he can put the ball on the floor for a big guy, he can pass well.Things Kevin Durant can do.”

Maybe. It depends on the Knicks. If the Jazz offer 1 or 2 players, the 12th pick and another future pick, that's not a bad haul for Porzingis if they don't really want him. The health questions with WCS might make a trade from 4 even more likely.

The turmoil in Sacto might help take them out of that game too.

Regarding Tomic, the Jazz could trade his rights and let NY worry about him coming over. It would be a sweetner in the trade.

lol at the KD reference, srsly... but I admitted I would probably take him #1 if he's legit 7'2+ in shoes.

Some say 7'2" is the cutoff to be qualified as a giant.

Porzingis english is really top notch. he actually seems pretty funny. How many 7'2 Power forwards have there been in the NBA?

I will **** myself if we trade any of our core for an unproven rookie. I like where our team is heading and if DL trades any part of that, then I see it as a major step backwards.
