What's new

Following potential 2015 draftees

Some of you will remember I was REALLY hyping Stanley Johnson when he was ranked #13 in the nation. He then (later) shot up to #3. I suspect he may still be underrated.

New mixtape.

24/7 sports has ranked him #2 already!
He has some good handles.
His 3 point shooting was highlighted a lot, but I remember reading he shot 25% from deep last season in high school and it's his biggest weakness at this point.
So has he improved in that area if my memory doesn't trick me.

Yes. Spot on.

He has improved a lot. He's basically become an MKG with a reliable stroke and getting better daily..

MKG? The comparison that came to my mind when I saw him create on the perimeter was Jamal Crawford with willingness to pass.
So you say he's a shutdown defender when you say MKG? Because on offense I can't see it and defense as usual isn't displayed.

Great defender.
Also, MKG would be a nearly u stoppable player if he had a consistent 3pt shot.
Both of these guys have super high motors, great handles, very good court vision, pull down rebounds, block shots... but SJ is proving to he a very reliable jump shooter to boot.

I guess I should stop ditching Bobcats broadcasts. Somehow I only remember seeing MKG finishing plays on the fastbreak or after rebounds in highlights. Never seen him slash.
But I better learn something new every day than stay dumb forever .
Thanks for clearing it up!

More difticult to slash when your defender knows you won't shoot it.

Hes a beast..hes improved his all around offensive skill dramatically in a year..

Are you surprised now Vaughn has dropped UK? been a very odd recruting year for them with 14' class and very surprising considering they just came off of one of the greatest recruiting classes ever in 13'

Theyres also alot of rumors that Stanleys going to Arizona so this could be the weakest class Cal ends up with..Still gonna be a good class just not usual loaded Cal Class

proably Towns Lyles Blackmon/Booker and Ullis

Cal stopped recruiting Vaughn. No idea why.
Yes, VERY weird recruiting year all around.

UK will have a top 3 or 4 class at worst. That would, in fact, be Cal's worst class considering it's 5 straight #1's.

Yes, I think Lyles, Ullis, Booker, Towns, and Oubre (though a lot of people don't think so..), and I think Johnson is 50/50 right now.

Vaughns leader is supposenly ISU and UNLV which is weird as hell but Hoibergs a great coach..

The UK class isnt that bad considering you proably wont win one in 14 anyway but youll have a few guys who will be at least 2 or 3 years players maybe 4 to add in with the one and dones youll always get..

I think that maybe some top recruits are afraid that in case of UK not winning the 'chip too many players may return. And competing with a previously lock to be one and done is not necessarily good for your own one and done intentions(while it may push yourself individually).
So maybe it's the a result of spectating the 11-12 and 12-13 Wildcats next to each other. And let's be honest With their depth it wouldn't be exactly surprising to see one or two getting not enough exposure to get a desired draftpick or having a performance slump. Injuries would hurt it further since you need time to bounce back where the other rook can pass by.
But he already got that small point guard 4 star recruit. Maybe that's a way he'll go more often.

Trust me - Randle is gonna declare no matter what.

He's gettin' his.

I was never talkin bout Randle. More like Young, Aaron, Marcus Lee, Dakari Johnson. And only one or two of those I'm talking about. Maybe even Poythress depending on how he performs.

Yeah... but do I have to wait for you to bring him up, for me to talk about him????

Do you like have him trademarked or copy-righted?

Nah but you quoting me about people eventually returning to Kentucky implies that I included him in the non disclosed group of potential returnees. At least it does that to me. So I clarified the obvious ;)

@__@ alright bro, apologies for quoting you........... didn't know it means that much to you.

K3 trolling.. wuts this world come to??

@BTP
1) some of what u said certainly has merit and is a reality year in and year out.. however, UK'S haul next year is only down by UK's standards, but epic by everyone else's standards... so PJKino's observation needs to be taken in that context. (That's not being defensive about it either.. we're entitled to having a down year.. I'm just stating its hardly down at all.)
2) one reason Cal took Ullis (in addition to him being good) is the '15 class has ZERO PG's currently ranked in the top 30 players (pure points, not combo guards) and he would like to have a multi-year PG to lessen the sting of their being no elite floor generals in that year. (We'll get Malik Newman and he's awesome, but a combo).
