Following potential 2015 draftees

Good posts. I have definitely been bashing exum too much. I need to be more patient for sure

As for exums body not being ready and being an 18 year old body or whatever.... I think that is kind of a lame excuse. Wiggins is super skinny, Burks was about the same size as exum when he was a rookie, durant is about as skinny as it gets.

Exum just needs to stop playing scared

1) those guys were all built better.
2) they all played in college for at least a year, where they got beat up and got used to not being the stud they were in HS
3) Exum is just going through that, except he's in the pros instead of in college, so yeah, I wouldn't say he has a weak excuse at all. Do I want him to be agressive and confident? Of course, but it is more than understandable why he isn't, and it still isn't reason to worry.

I think Exum's main problem is that he's never faced this quality of defensive bigs in his life before. Now he's gotta readjust his finishing around the rim, because everytime I see him try it it goes horribly wrong. He'll get there next season. I'm confident.

Definitely this. Just look at him in the Nike Hoop Summit. He was comfortable and confident. The NBA physicality is definitely the main factor here.

The question is, was exum ever really that good at the stuff he was supposedly good at or was playing against Australian high schoolers making him look good at it.
You must be forgetting the Hoops Summit and the U19 Worlds that he played in. During the Worlds competition, he looked above average most games and elite in other games.

Watching that makes me wonder why Exum doesn't run when he plays. The jazz play at such a slow pace and have very few fast breaks, but it looks like Exum is (or was) good in transition. Are all of the other jazz players slow? Or is it coaching? It seems like an easy way to get Exum involved.

Thanks for posting that.
It's nice to see

Now the question is. Did those games have non high schoolers in them?
And were they all star games? (All star games often lack defense and physicality and coaching and many other things that separate them from other games)

The WC was not an all star event. Against Spain (one of the best international teams) Exum was getting the defensive attention and he dominated.

That is good to know

I tried to post the video via my phone but instead it created a new thread. Go look for it and watch the video.

(You'll enjoy it a lot more if you speak Spanish.)
When you said WC vs Spain I thought you meant gasols, ibaka and company. Still nice though I guess

My boy Jake Layman had a pretty good game considering his team got blown out on the road.

Also James Blackmon Jr. continues to have a great year and actually prove himself to be more than a shooter (dropped 22 on Maryland). I doubt he comes out this year, but could be a good mid 1st rounder next year. Sharp shooting undersized 2 guard.

Stnaley Johnson had another great game.

Porzingis looks pretty awesome. Honestly, I won't be shocked if he ends up going top 3.

...and what's with these dark Euro gyms. Is the idea that if they don't sell enough seats, they don't turn on all the lights or something?

That vid of Porzingis blew me away. He's hitting 3s off the catch, running the floor for dunks, contesting shots out of his area, making home-run passes and showing really good IQ. He's trying to set a few picks too, but he needs to work on that.
