What's new

Following potential 2015 draftees

Yes, that is Cy's new golden child. I have to admit, that is an awesome pass.
Ya and those stats that were posted for a single game were pretty impressive

list for the Jazz (not BPA) (assuming that the top 3 of Okafor, Mudiay, and Towns are not available):

Russell -- potential to push the Jazz into a high level NBA offense for a long time (though I have some defensive concerns)

Johnson -- would fit great as a SF, be an all-around asset

Looney -- I'm perhaps reaching a bit, but I think he can be an NBA SF -- would make our frontcourt (with Favors and Gobert the assumed long-terms starters) incredibly long difficult to rebound against -- would take time for offense to develop, however

Porzingis -- but only if the Jazz think there's a chance he could become a PF/SF hybrid -- I don't think it's out of the question, but I think the odds are under 50% -- basically same reasons as for Looney, but without the rebounding -- perhaps comes with better shot than Looney

Herzonja -- great offensive tools -- no idea if he'll be able to put it all together in the service of winning basketball

Others:
Oubre -- will need to see more (and more consistent output)
Booker -- could work himself into the conversation, though probably after the Jazz's pick
Winslow -- midrange game too much of a liability right now -- seems a bit shorter than advertised
Turner -- doesn't seem to fit a Jazz need, unless we want him to be a backup -- worried about his hips
WCS -- rendundant for Jazz, though should be a great role player

D'Angelo Russell: Best play to ever come out of Kentucky and doesn't go to UK.

Great recruiting job Coach Cal.

If there is a god, he will let us win the lottery so we can get D'Russ.

Unfortunately, HE roots for the Cavs. Fortunately, Cleveland effs it up all the time.

Bet they regret the Wiggins for Love trade now and by the end of the season the fans will turn on Kevin Love and he will leave. Epic front office meltdown will ensue. Should be at least as much fun as watching the Rockets try desperately to get a 3rd star for Howard/Harden only to fail miserably and end up losing Parsons and having to ship out Asik and Lin to save cash.

Am I the only one who gets tired of the highlight mixes that are almost nothing but dunks? So many of them are 2/3 or more just dunks, often cutting to the next dunk when the player is already in the air or within 1 dribble of taking off. We get it, these kids are tall, they can dunk. Yay. Can they do anything else?

What position dies herzonja play and where is he from?

Okafor
Towns
Mudiay
Russell
Johnson

I just want one of these guys. We need to lose more.

I actually think that just the change of Trey coming off the bench (I think we'll see Kanter doing the same very soon) and the Jazz will start to win more games. I think that little change will be enough to win about 4 more games. We'll see I guess.

Well I wouldn't consider a mid range jumper a highlight. Or a spot up 3. Maybe if they were called "Skills Videos" you'd have a point.

Something special, in excess, isn't very special anymore.

A mid-range shot could absolutely be a highlight, if the player did something cool to get the open shot, a cross-over or a spin move or some excellent ball handling followed by a difficult shot in traffic is just as cool as endless dunks. Same with a spot up 3 if it is part of a montage of them that shows the players range or ability to get open or rise up over the defender or whatever.

To me dunk videos have been so overplayed they are nigh unwatchable.
