Following potential 2015 draftees

mario Hezonja - Super athletic SF with very deep range that plays with passion. Can get disinterested on the defensive end but is above average when he wants to be. Been playing with men and is now starting on one of the best teams in Europe. Him and Hayward would be awesome to watch.

Can anyone give a quick summary if there is a player worth getting pumped up for at the 7th pick? TIA.

Mario Hezjona.

He's a 6'8 wing who's very explosive off the ground, has promising shooting ability (40% from 3... recently had a game where he went 8/8 from downtown), and seems to be a very competitive person (has that alpha dog personality).

Here's a video that displays his athleticism: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUcrZ4y_Ccg

Here's his top plays from 2014 that show more of his all around game and upside: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s97sRoz-xag

What about Tyler Harvey of Eastern Washington? He's from SOCal and is said to be the next Damian Lillard. He's a 6'4" combo guard that have averaged over 20 points a game his three season.

He's not the next Damian Lillard. They are very, very different players.

I'm starting to buy in a bit on Kevon Looney. He looks like a very versatile and high-IQ player. Kind of a poor man's Jabari Parker that plays defense.

Great me too. He is the ultimate high risk high reward guy though kinda like Porzingis.

... but so was Greek Freak.

Looney would be a very good "glue" big. I think he has no chance of ever being a first or second option.
If that's what the Jazz are looking for, they might consider Turner instead. Besides a 3 point shot, he has a nice turn around jumper (hitting it at 44%), and is money at the FT line as well.
He is a bit soft and moves weird, but did put up a cool 17/10/6 in 24 minutes last night.

See post 4878. Someone is a little excited about a certain guy.

Thanks. Will check him out.

the thing with looney is if he can play the sf he will be special if he is a 4 then I think he will be more average. I know there is a lot of debate and a lot say he is a 4. I am NOT KKK and will not nuts on the sf thing.

I will give some reason why I think he can play the 3 and why not

pros

- played pg his senior year high school
- quick feet
- great court vision
- skinny
- weak side shot blocking
- super long

cons

- body can put on weight
- best feature is his rebounding (sf) will pull him out of the lane
- have a hard time guarding fast 3
- 3 pt shot looks good but not falling
-

When we trade Kanter for a mid first round pick I hope we look at montrezl Harrell. Everytime I watch that guy I'm impressed. He'd be a perfect 3rd big... He reminds me of Faried back when he played hard.

Watching him now... Not been impressed when I have. Bill Walton should announce every basketball game ever.

Ucla shouldn't be allowed to have pro prospects.. They just let all the white unathletic guys run the show

Watching Looney I don't see Lamar odom at all... I see al farouq aminu. I would very disappointed with him.

Michael Gbinje from Syracuse has been playing really well as of late. I also like Rakeem Christmas as a backup big.

IIRC, UCLA plays Looney at the PF position due to the lack of depth up front so Looney is not really able to showcase any SF skills.

It doesn't mean he doesn't have them skills though. Odom didn't play the SF position until he was with the Lakers IIRC.
