Brewer was super talented coming out of college. He just played a super specific role in Utah's system that he was great at. He could have done a lot more on ball if Sloan asked him too. His 3pt shot just couldn't translate to NBA distance. Dozier's might not either. The dude has some of the most inconsistent mechanics and misses you will see.

I'd say Sloan and Dwill maximized his talent pretty well. He was limited. His stint with Chicago was unmemorable and he was out of the league after 28.

Utah focused his role into a specific thing he was good at. They never showcased his full skill set he had showed in college. I'm not saying he could have been a better player, but I'm saying when comparing him to prospects entering the NBA, it's important to remember Brewer had a larger skill set.

So when someone says PJ Dozier was a better passer/shooter entering the NBA than Brewer, it's just patently false and the only reason someone would believe that is just remembering Brewer as a NBA player and not a college player entering the NBA.

Regarding Collins. For those of you who've seen him play multiple times or kept up on him at the combines and workouts, does he have the ability to become a good defender at the 4? Or is he just very slow off the floor (interior), laterally (if defending a stretch 4), or to rotate (help) like Boozer?

Moreover, does he show any signs of having a perimeter game or is his range severely limited?

I'm curious about this for Swanigan and the big kid from Crieghton as well.

Anyway, i saw nearly every game Collins played in the ACC and i believe he can become a plus defender. last season was really his first playing any sort of meaningful role and he had trouble staying out of foul trouble. a lot of his problem defensively was him trying to stay in the game, not picking up fouls. he has the athletic ability and the bball iq to be a good defender.

similarly, with his shot - he's young. not only was that his first year playing a major role, but he is a young sophomore. he displayed a nice shot from 12-16 feet and because he's such a talented player overall and a skilled scorer, i'd be shocked if he doesn't become reliable from 18-20 feet, perhaps even to the NBA 3. i've found that guys who are really good, really productive, tend to find a way - even if not to become stars, but valuable rotation pieces for teams.
 
Out of curiosity, who would you like to draft between White (Colorado) and Frank Jackson (Duke)? At some point in this draft, I'd like to see us draft a combo guard who could create. Which between the two do you like more?

I would take Frank Jackson. He's a little bit more explosive athletically. And he's almost 4 years younger. That's significant development time. I do like White though.

I like Swanigan, but i am concerned about his body for today's NBA. It's not so much that he's too short, but my concern would be whether can move well enough for his height.

You have to like his overall skill level and the fact he's already shown the ability to hit the college three.

With regard to Patton, I'm lukewarm. I never liked him much the 3-4 times i watched Creighton, but mostly i just like other guys better. PgAb loves him.

I'll add my 2 cents to the bigs question

Collins has the ability to score from all over the floor. His game reminds me a ton of david west. I think he has the ability to be a decent defender and like i have always said it will be about his desire to become so. If he has the desire of Boozer or Kanter no but if he wants to get out and play he has the ability.

Swanigan would of been a lotto pick 15 years ago. His size and skill level was perfect for the NBA the. His body type he will always have to watch what he eats and how he gains muscle or he will not be effective in the current NBA. His jump shot looks good and will translate to the NBA but defense is my question. He will have a hard time guarding stretch 4s. He does have the wing span to play a small ball 5. It is the lack of success of players like Jared sullinger and his build of player that is hurting him the most.

Patton is one of my favorite players even before PGAB was pimping him. He is raw and a project but he is athletic and has a nice lookign jump shot. He has the potential to be very good and seems like he is a decent kid. He is a 5 in the NBA but maybe be able to guard a little out on the perimeter. I think he can be good if he puts in the work.
