What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

Reminds me of Love after his frosh season in this respect - there were reasons not to like him as a prospect, kinda wondered where he'd fit, etc, but ultimately, when you would watch him, he was usually the most productive player on the floor, outplayed the other bigs and he was just really good at playing basketball. I don't know where Leaf will fit, what his role will be, but he'll figure it out because he's awesome at playing basketbsll

I really like him. I don't have many worries about him offensively. There are several things he does at elite level for his position. What worries me is - will he be able to stay on the court(will he be able to defend a position at a reasonable level, to where it won't be a detriment to the number of minutes he can get).

What a showing from Edmond Sumner vs St. Johns.. That's a stock boosting type of game. Marcus LoVett the opposing PG has 32 and counting, Sumners got a cool 20 5-7-3stls on just 12 shots tho, and just threw down a viscous dunk in the middle of the lane.

Xavier's been up 15 the whole game.

Michael Weathers has gotta stop reaching in.. This is certified madness.. Everytime I watch him it's the same thing -- He's so quick that he leaves his man and can recover so he flys in for help/traps and just hacks away..

3.1 fouls per game in 27 minutes.. If it was a 6 foul rule he'd probably be at 4.0..

It's like Andrew Golata hitting Riddick Bowe with low-blows... Does this guy really not know any better?

I wonder how the T.J. Leaf fans here feel about D.J. Wilson.

I've seen DJ Wilson a few times and while there are things to like he only averages 10 ppg. he only averages 10 ppg because there are too many games where he simply doesn't do enough. like today against Maryland he drops 13 on 7 shots - very efficient, but in 37 minutes to only get 7 shots simply isn't going to get it done. and he only got 3 rebs in the game. he can shoot, but isn't a good scorer and should be a better rebounder IMO.

Five-star wing Hamidou Diallo has committed to Kentucky. "Next week, I will be attending the University of Kentucky," he said.

Smart move, his other options were vastly inferior. He isn't expected to play this semester but that could change.

Coach Cal's halftime interviews are easily the best of any coach, better than Pop IMO. He gives brutally honest responses that are extremely well thought out and purposeful.

Kerwin Roach is trending upwards. Lights out showing in the first 35 minutes of this ISU game on ESPN2

Andrew Jones and Tevin Mack are playing well too.

So is Monte Morris tho

Poor showing for Miles Bridges and MSU in a 9pt loss to PSU today. 2/8 from the field. His 3pt % might be a bit of an apparition.. 54% from the stripe doesn't inspire much confidence. It looks clean coming out of his hand from 3 tho.

Markus Howard was measured at 6' with a 6' ws for Team USA last summer. I don't buy that but if true he's certainly an NBA prospect. My favorite midget PG since Ulis..

He's 17 and could've easily been a HS Sr. Instead he's Marquette's starting PG and dropped 21 on 7/11 shooting today 3 rebs 3 ast vs Villanova.

Markus is a sniper of the highest caliber. He might be a safe bet to shoot over 50% this season. Right now he's 33/59 (56%). He's also shooting 97% from the FT stripe. He can shoot off the catch or dribble.

I posted this vid sometime in 2015 here. He;s not Isaiah Thomas but he's most certainly a beacon of offense in college. I don;t usually vouch for undersized players unless I really think they're exceptional..

UNC's crushing NC State to start. Theo Pinson is back tho! glad to see that. He's basically become one of those "blast from the past" type of players due to all his injuries.

If you're looking for a competitive game to watch (UNC-NC state is a blowout and so is the NFL playoff game) lemme suggest Valparaiso-Detroit Mercy on ESPN3

Alec Peters and Rik Smits son in action.

There might actually be a 3rd player to keep an eye on for Valpo. They've got a Fr. 7-footer from Spain coming off the bench, Jaume Sorolla, who looks long and mobile, and like he's got some shooting touch(I like the way his FT's look)

Tony Bradley is easily the closest player to Enes Kanter in this draft. There's actually a great deal of parallels. I do believe he'll be a better defender.

He's a demon on the oboards in a similar way.
