What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

The Jazz were represented at yesterday's nationally televised Kentucky practice. Although, so was the other 29 teams. 90 NBA execs and coaches on hand.

a good Australian league team is probably about the standard of a 10-15 ranked college team. The top flight teams would be too fast and athletic and skilled but the Aussie league teams players are men with men's bodies so would physically overpower a lot of college teams save the top flight ones. They wouldn't develop a young prospects game all that much.

I would say comparable to 15-25 ranked team. Top 10 is a little to high. College basketball is watered down now anyways because good players don't stick around 3 to 4 years so the rosters are always on constant changeovers..

One more for the Road;

@PKM this Trae Young quote seems to fly in the face of your early reports on Devin Booker at UK. Care to clarify?? I'm guessing your source was unaware Cal had come to this realization?

PKM source is the Kentucky scout board. Anyone that ever has real inside info does not mention it online like a gossip hound..

How is a player from France a local player?

Just stopping by to see if anyone's got info/an opinion on a local player.

Here's a possible 2nd round sleeper/stash candidate/player to track for the road;

6'3" French CG Luc Loubaki, who was the youngest player in the ProA league getting minutes(10mpg) looks like a an interesting development project and like a player that would've been ranked pretty highly(at-least 4stars) if he came up thru a US HS.

DX has him ranked #30 in their International '97 rankings but that seems absurd considering their unwavering love of George De Paula Lucas..

He declared for the last draft, worked out for teams, his reason for withdrawing was to have a meniscus surgery apparently, which also caused him to miss the U20 tournament this summer..

Total freak athlete, effortless lift/extremely explosive and his build is ideal for his height.. lockdown defensive potential.. His skill on offense is very much a work in progress. Especially for a team with 4 2nd rd picks he could be worth taking a flier on, If he can show improvement staying under control offensively he'll be viewed in a totally different light..

Off topic but I am sickened that there is a UK pop up bean bag game sitting in the middle of campus at the college I work at. Needs to be set on fire.

Anyone else see a resemblance between UK's freshman "Bam" Adebayo as a young Dwight Howard (12 years age difference)?

How is a player from France a local player?

Emmanuel Akot, currently a 5-star Jr. at Wasatch Academy, who recently cut his list to Utah, Oregon, Arizona and Louisville. The last and-1 drive on the video I posted looks like some Dr. J ****. He might end up actually being a better pro prospect than Frank Jackson, I kinda get that inclination...

I've whittled down the 4-star players (if any service rated em 5-stars they're not included) to 5 that COULD surprise in year one, outperform their 5-star peers and have a shot at 1-n-done status. few names I've mentioned before and a few new ones. Without further ado;

(ranking # is from Rivals)
#38 DeJon Jarreau 6'5" PG/SG UMass, mentioned him before, huge recruit for UMass, lots of parallels in his game with projected 1st rounder Xavier So. Edmond Sumner
#59, Kevin Huerter 6'7" SG Maryland, he's recently grown 2 inches, Main NBA skill is 3pt shooting pretty good athlete too.
#86 Kodgye Pugh 6'8" SF Stanford, do-it-all lefty he's actually kinda similar to Emmanuel Akot, skilled and athletic.
#67 Robert Williams 6'9" PF Texas A&M, spotted mentioned him a while back, Jordan Mickey style shotblocker/Athlete,recently grown to 6'9" with a 7'3" ws
#83 James Banks 6'11" C/PF Texas, also mentioned him a while back, he's competitive and easily has NBA size as he's like an inch taller and longer than Favors, maybe 2 in WS..

No ones mentioned it here but 6'5" Hamidou Diallo is apparently going to be eligible for this draft.. Utah could be a great landing spot, he's a project and needs skill development(sub-30% 3pt shooter), EXTREMELY gifted athlete, like some Russell Westbrook ****, no lie... Correct me if I'm wrong but he'd probably be the most athletic guard the Jazz ever had...

Never have I seen a 6'5" player get those Hayward style chase down blocks in transition as regularly as this kid, he's truly a freakish athlete.

Posted a video of him blocking the **** out of Josh Jackson here long ago. Here's a recent mix.

He's got all the tools... Just needs to sharpen up a few of them..

I'd actually have to say he's a better athlete than Zach LaVine, there's absolutely no comparison between them defensively.. Kid is built for war on the court!!

He just needs to sharpen his shot and he'll be elite. I'm a little meh if he doesn't.. but he is a true freak athlete.

What were these earlier reports of mine you are referring to?
And I dare guess you are not picking a fight again, right?

I don;t pick fights. Never at any point did I toss personal insults here to anyone that didn't clap first.. Definitely guilty of carrying on after the initial shots have been fired but what can i say, it happens.

The reports were along the lines of Booker's defense being behind the other freshman and that it could limit his PT.

IIRC this was around the time your opinion was he's a multi-year player, which is in line withthat story..

The story just seems like sensationalized revisionism to me..
