What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

So Omer Yurtseven isn't going to be eligible? NCAA's gonna give him the Kanter treatment??? No Ted Kapita either..

State seems to think they might get an answer in the next ten days. They think he will get cleared, but we shall see.

Kansas offers Freshman Isaiah Todd a scholarship. Remember the name! #1 pick quality player, built like Ivan Rabb except he's a wing..

High-majors should throw him, Jaemyn Brakefield, Jaden Springer, Jalen Suggs, Kyree Walker and Shareef Abdur-Rahim's son, Jabri, offers immediately.

This kid is an eventual 1st rd pick, easily, probably more like lottery pick. I'd classify him as "can't miss", I almost wanna say he's got the talent to go #1...

The bigs will be the strong suit of that 2019 class, handful of very good ones have surfaced already.

I'm thoroughly convinced Wiseman is tailor-made for this new small-ball style you see in the NBA...

He's 6'10 with a 7'5" wingspan, and skilled, at 15 years old..

It's possible that Jonathan Isaac is a more fluid athlete and has better handle than Brandon Ingram, he's also about an inch taller. I would say his ceiling is he #2 pick.

Does this imply you have a clear number one?

I had a clear #1, who I had #1 for years in this class but the latest Harry Giles surgery made me hesitant, If he returns healthy and doesn't miss games/plays to his potential, it's likely that I return him to the top spot.. I maintain that he's a better prospect than Amare Stoudemire.

I had Fox #1 on my last mock but it's unlikely he'll be able to hold onto that spot, unless he plays like a world beater.

I really think there's a great case to be made for the 76ers to trade Noel and Okafor for a guard (or 2 or + some picks) and to put Giles next to Embiid. There's no doubt that Giles is a much better compliment.. and there's no doubt that a frontline of Simmons-Giles-Embiid is easily one of the most athletic in the league.. if not the most athletic... I know 76ers fans want help on the perimiter, but I think Giles can help them there (on both sides of the ball..)

Even though I don't have him #1, I'll definitely admit Josh Jackson seems to be the safest pick at this point. I almost feel like reading some of these articles about impact freshman and college players to watch, he's being severely underrated. In fact I've concluded that some of these writers (such as Jeff Goodman) have a lil bias against Josh, he's built up a bit of a reputation as someone who denies interviews/gives 'no comment'..

I could honestly forsee a scenario where Isaac goes #1, for now I'ma just say his ceiling is #2 though.. I've already identified him, Bam, Terrance Furgeson, Lauri Markannen and Isaiah Hartenstein as players (outside of the top-5) I think are good bets to impress late in the process in team workouts and the combine.

Were you able to catch the exhibition game of UK's?
Man the guards look good.

Nope I took a break from watching live games to help meet deadlines. Only one I've seen is the Jazz opener and thats because it was my birthday and I took the day off. Gotta new business venture creating content, trying to master a few computer languages in the offseason, while doing research on the subject matter of the content. Hopefully my C++ skills are sharp enough by the time the real season rolls around.

Saw the boxcore at halftime and heard Bam was jumping real high and that the crowd went nuts over a Briscoe 3 in the corner.. and that Cal's son made 2 3's, that's about it tho.

What'd you see from Fox??

FWIW Dennis Smith isn't 6'2" he's probably more like 6'¾"

Actually he might be shorter than that.. Even though I think NC State lists hm at 6'3". Friend of mine, who's 6'1" without shoes saw him at the Panthers game yesterday and said he was a couple inches taller......

Blazing. Wall is a good comp.
Goes rim to rim with two dribbles and easily knifes through defenders.
Thing I like even more is his vision and his confidence in it.
I swear it seemed he never dribbled the ball other than on a fast break. He immediately is making pristine passes into the post and the ball whips better than I think any other Cal PG.

Last think is I love his defense. He's so long and quick that he terrorizes the passing lanes while recovering quickly to keep his man. He missed a couple shots at the rim early on that shows he needs a bit more muscle but it didn't worry me in the least.

Sounds about right! Even if he's a shade below them, which he might not be, I always thought he was in that tier of athleticism with D. Rose and Wall..

The way he plays the game is absolutely glorious IMO. To me it's the type of play that incites the reaction of throwing your hands in the air and saying "thats what you're supposed to do!"

Like one of those old boxing analysts that says "The boy is a fighter, he fights the way you're supposed to fight!"

His instincts are nothing short of phenomenal.

NC State freshman Omer Yurtseven is expected to get hit with a 7-9 game suspension, per a source. Expect an official announcement soon.

Looks like 9 is the verdict. Kind of lucky to be playing at all based on what Fener coach claimed. NC State should be real strong this year.

He's diminutive but I believe Joel Berry (UNC) is vastly underrated in DX's Sophomore rankings at #48.

I think we'll see flashes of Patty Mills this season. He's a great shooter and I like his quickness. 6'0 in shoes with a 6'3" wingspan.

Almost wanna say he could work himself into the 2nd rd.

No doubt that the loss of Theo Pinson hurts UNC this year tho...

Kansas scrimmage today, I correctly identified Devonte Graham last year early. They've got 3 breakout fringe first rd candidates this year LaGerald Vick, Svi Mykhailiuk and Carlton Bragg.

Really like Vick and Self said he's their most improved. Keep an eye on his 3pt shot, if it's good he's definitely a 1st rd talent, and I'd definitely compare him favorably to Tony Wroten. He's got some Jordan Clarkson to his game, possibly some Jamal Crawford.. If he plays really extremely well I could definitely be talked into putting him over Edmond Sumner, who many see as a 1st rd lock.

Bragg has SOME of those T.J. Warren like scoring tricks/instincts in his bag, he's a short armed PF though and nowhere near the athlete of lets say Marqese Chriss, and frankly obviously inferior to Warren.

Svi is the wildcard IMO. I still say he's got 1st rd talent. Ya know who I kinda think his game is going to resemble????? Joe Ingles.

Dedric Lawson is up to almost 240 lbs. Tubby Smith is going to try to get him to be more of a do-it all player this year, and hopefully it should look something like Kyle Anderson. Could be an interesting 2nd round target for the Jazz (to stash) if he's really putting in work in the weight-room. Odds are stacked against him and Memphis this year with a makeshift roster..

From the other day.. Bridges height is a topic of conversation, as he's much more of a SF than SG. My official guesstimate is 6'6¾" in-shoes, which with his build and toughness is fine to play SF vs most matchups, meaning I don't think he's as undersized as some would lead you to believe, he's a solid 1st rd prospect, with upside to the teens.
