Following potential 2017 draftees...

DE has us taking Jordan Bell with the 42 pick. I see 2 problems with that selection:

No guys named Jordan should be allowed on this team.

No more guys named Bell should be allowed on this team.

I'm kinda Hoping Johnathan Motley falls to us at 42. Then when he starts to break out as the steal of the draft, we can have a section of die-hards in the cheap seats called the Motley crew.

Chad Ford is saying that DJ Wilson's feedback from NBA workouts has been positive. However, I think the only team Wilson worked out for so far is the Jazz, meaning the Jazz gave him positive feedback. Am looking to see if he worked out for other teams.

Ford now has Wilson at #27 on his big board.

Seems like he's worked out with the Jazz and the Spurs and has met with the Pistons.

Comparing Bam to Favors is ludicrous.

Bam was a 4th/5yh option who showed zero offensive game.

Favors was a primary option, who was raw but actually impacted the game. Also showed far more skills than Bam. I don't understand how somebody who watches basketball can compare them. Watch games, not highlights. Don't compare just off of physical attributes.

I'm with Catchall on Adebayo. I think he's severely underrated. I'd take him with any of our picks easily. To me he's a lottery talent without a question. I personally would probably have him around top 10 when it's all said and done.

He's just a terrible fit with the Jazz. Sorry, at best he is a 15 mpg backup to Rudy. He would never play next to Rudy in our system. Just not someone with a high enough ceiling for the Jazz to take in the first round IMO.

That's very fair. But we are talking about no. 24 pick. If we get a beast of a backup to Rudy, that's quite alright. I'm still taking BPA. I don't care if he's going to have to back up Rudy.

So Bam put up equal or better stats than Derrick Favors as a 4th or 5th option? Sounds encouraging.

I'm not saying that Bam is top 10, but I can't figure out why teams would be high on Giles' potential or Anigbogu's potential and at the same time not be excited about Bam's potential. Historically, a guy with that physical profile would go lottery without question. I understand that the league has changed in the last few years, but remember Jazz traded an All Star for a package based around Derrick Favors and then used a #3 pick for Enes Kanter. If they can draft a similar caliber prospect in the late first round, they ought to be happy about it. At a minimum, Bam looks like a very solid rebounder at age 19.

Favors shared a front court with a senior big man who was pretty good that year too. GT had rough guard play and two big men.

A little different than Bam's situation where he was the main big man on a team full of really good guards.

Dude, Ike measured out way better than Bam and is more than a year younger. I'm not sure why it's hard to understand why he is currently mocked higher.

As far as Giles, that all depends on his knee health. He was clearly the more versatile athlete (if he can return to his old form), measured out better, and is younger.

Not sure why it's hard to see why they both rated higher.

I'm not saying Bam > Favors as a prospect. Favors was a top 5 pick and rightfully so. But Bam in the 2nd round is grossly underrated. Anytime you draft a 19 year-old big, you're drafting based on potential--size, length, speed, explosiveness, touch, good hands, quick feet, work ethic, etc. You hope the player then develops his game. Bam has an elite physical profile, a ton of upside, and really no downside. Worst case, he'll be the energy big he is today who rebounds and defends. If he develops an offensive arsenal, he'll make a big impact. It's the same rationale the Jazz used to acquire Favors and Kanter.

He'd probably be a 1st rounder in most drafts, just not this one.
