Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Thank you. So this gives us an educated guess who the Jazz get to choose from based on whoever is not there.

Okobo, Heurter, Brown, Musa. Who do you want?

All good choices tbh. My personal preference would be Huerter, coming off the bench for Mitchell is a hard act to follow but Huerter would somehow pull it off, i just like his improvement trajectory he's not terribly limited either, definitely not a 1 trick pony. He could be a damn good pick in that range the way Hood was..

Wait....why does Walt Perrin say that Troy Brown is a good shooter and to discount his college season...??? Plus he says he is a great defender and very versatile. It sounds like to Walt he checks all the boxes. Am I hearing him right?

I haven't given up on Bradley. He could be a decent backup big. His salary is so cheap that he doesn't bother me.

His salary isn't the issue. Burning solid assets and being able to foresee that they shouldn't is.

We'll see where this is at in a few years, but I can't see Bradley sticking here.

clearly for brown to be taking 1/3rd of his fg's from 3 at oregon is part of getting him extra reps in an area of need... not because it was best for the team or in his natural comfort zone of play.... it's still a small sample size, his shot isn't broken.

Exum's shot poor %'s thus far in the NBA walt would probably say he's a good shooter too..

@SLAMonline

Kemba Walker "could be in play" for the Cavaliers, according to @joevardon

[Sheridan] "I expect the Bucks to move Eric Bledsoe and Jabari Parker, because Giannis Antetokounmpo does not enjoy playing alongside those two."

Wondering if that was him trying to push him earlier (moving someone else down). I only say that because those takes are so divorced from conventional wisdom.

That being said, I think I like Troy Brown.

I bet the Jazz would trade that pick for Larry Nance Jr in a heartbeat if they had a chance. Word is he's received plenty of interest but the Cavs want to keep him, there was a report last week they view him as a foundational piece...

Perrin initially said during the workout that Troy needs to improve his shooting.

Would he play PF for us? Not sure he'd fit since we've been trying to find a stretch 4 for like FOREVER.

I doubt it, he doesn't seem like a fit on the Jazz at all.

Good or bad? I've been kinda meh on him.
So I was "meh" on him too. I admit when it comes to American white guys I'm immediately skeptical, even downright turned off.

But:

This is actually an old video, so some of this is from his freshman season

This one is specifically his sophomore season

I can't find a good comprehensive breakdown, unfortunately. But looking at that and the scouting reports I can find... this might be THE sleeper.

There are some other things I was reading, too. I don't know where I read it, but Mark Turgeon has a history of deflating prospect performance (Khris Middleton was one referenced). Locke mentioned that although the sample size is small, Huerter had THE best isolation efficiency in the draft (translation: that isn't to say he is the best, but rather that there may be some untapped upside).

Huerter was a former PG before a series of growth spurts. Somewhere in the past 2 years probably around last summer he'd be listed at 6'5" but it was rather apparent he was more like 6'7"..

the Sophomore highlights u posted are excellent, and i'd recommend anyone who wants to see him at his best, or just the capabilities of his offensive arsenal, watch those.

I think the Spurs take Huerter, of all the guys i see getting love here I think it's Okobo who is most likely to still be on the clock at #21
