Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Simons game reminds me of Sam Cassell here. Seems like he can get anywhere in the first two levels. Has a bevy of mid range shots and floaters.

Simmons has a smooth-looking offensive game that reminds me a bit of D'Angelo Russell without the stellar passing. He should be able to score if he gets enough space. He's a good, but not stellar athlete.

This is some recent footage.. 2 weeks old

I don't give a damn where they have this kid in these mocks, and you shouldn't either, to put him 20th is basically a mulligan, it's not saying much.. there's no part of putting him 20th thats "sticking your neck out there" i don't care if he's in high school.......

He's got lottery talent... It's as simple as that.. I'll debate anyone on it.. the floor is all yours...

I was a big fan of D'Angelo Russell when he was the 15th ranked player in the nation before he ever landed at OSU too, u might think this comment is out of place, but it's actually quite relevant to this topic...

he's equipped to go flying up the board in Dame Lillard type fashion, and thats kinda the lens u wanna evaluate him thru... It only takes one team right? Well i'm convinced some team is gonna be smitten by Anfernee Simons..

I would really invite your most thorough nitpicking of any of his recent footage, you'll probably still conclude he looks like a first rd pick... You might find yourself thinking "Damn, I wish Ricky Rubio could do some of this stuff...."

Things could change but for right now he's definitely gonna stay at least a tier higher than Landry Shamet.

I get a lil PRIME Jason Terry vibe from him, and when I;m talking prime Jason Terry I mean his years in atlanta in his early 20's that many fans have forgotten..

I just cant get past that his hair looks like he just woke up in the morning. 8-)

I am surprised that no one is mentioning Trevon Bluiett. 6'6" 2 guard Almost 41% from 3 on 7 attempts per game is impressive

The fact that he's a senior who will be 23.5 at the time of the draft is a bit of a buzz kill. He'll probably go in the 2nd round.

A sleeper pick for the Jazz might be Troy Brown from Oregon. He's 6'7", 215 lbs., with a 6'11" wingspan. He plays SF, has good athleticism and can push the ball and make plays with the pass as well as shoot from distance (36% 3-pt% on 3 atg). He has some history of playing PG in AAU, and it looks like he could put on another 10 lbs quite easily. He defends well in a wide stance and averages 1.3 steals. He also rebounds well for his size (7.6 rpg). I actually might prefer him to what I've seen of Lonnie Walker.

No. Howard is not the way forward, we need a scoring 3, so we can move Joe to a 2/3 and get DM to start at point.

I realise this is not far from treasonous but Rudy for the number 1 pick Ayrton would be something. I still feel like an SOB for even thinking it.

I think he's going to be something, maybe even make it to the HOF but i reckon the kid from Arizona could be something special.

Markus Howard?

This is truly one of those kids where it's "if only he was a few inches taller/longer"... I swear by Markus Howard skill level and first posted him here like 2years back when he was dropping nearly 40 a game in HS...

There's really a terrific crop of these undersized PG's in college right now. For my $$$ I'd have to take Tremont Waters tho, simply because he's in the best shape of all of em, he can just run and run and run and run and run..

For my $$$ he can actually play PG.. especially in college. He's really got great instincts, well beyond his years.. I'd actually list his true position as something like SG/PG/SF, there's sort of a Frank Ntilikina or even Exum vibe he's got going....

The big question is, is he going to return? With Louis King and top-5 pick Bol Bol headed to Oregon next year he could showcase even better for the lotto..

Yeah Russell's handle used to stand out to me when he was ranked like 15-20.. Simmons is similar, I like that comp..

He's not exactly gonna be like this 'big unknown' x-factor type of element, it's not like he's Dennis Schroder.... people are gonna vouch for this kid left and right.... Not that it'll hold much weight but one will be Jay Bilas for sure, he loves Simons.

I realise this is not far from treasonous but Rudy for the number 1 pick Ayton would be something. I still feel like an SOB for even thinking it.

I need to watch Ayton more. From what I've seen, he looks like a slightly clumsier version of Patrick Ewing. He'll score and get fouled. When he's fully engaged he's a beast on both sides. I don't think he's the rim protector that Gobert is, or that he's a very deft roll-man, but it depends on what you want from your C.
