Following Potential 2018 Draftees

This latest DX update really demonstrates the potential depth in this draft.

Trevon Duval and Gary Trent dropped to the 40's..

Brandon McCoy drops all the way to the bottom of the 2nd rd..

Shake Milton is underrated by them.

My shortlist for the Jazz: Zhaire Smith, Deandre Hunter, Troy Brown, Issac Bonga, Jontay Porter

Okay with: Simons, Wilkes, Musa
I like the potential upside from this list. There’s a couple of there guys that I like, and I’m pretty sure that somebody who currently projects for the lottery will drop between now and then.

what am i missing here? thought i read dx isn't doing anything new. or are you referring to givony on espn?

Okay. A week ago I didn't even know who this Hunter kid was. Now he's my guy. Go get him DL.

No one has defended top-5 pick Marvin Bagley III all year as well as Hunter did. He's got some legit ball-skills too. Nice player. I'd be surprised if he's in the 2018 draft though unless he gets a 1st rd promise. Who knows whats up with his wrist too, will it be healed in time for workouts??

* (?) i thought the Jazz had options on these 3 also like jerebko but they show up signed for next year

The biggest glaring weakness the Jazz have is at PF. I expect them to pick up Jerebko unless they have to release him to sign a player. Favors is the wild card at the moment because we don't know if he will be re-signed. I think the Jazz will look long and hard at combo forwards in this draft. Players that can play either the 3 or the 4. Free agency is also a possible chance to fill this spot too.

The next glaring weakness is PG with rubio on 1 more year and Exum restricted. the question is will exum continue to develop or is he an injury waiting to happen. I think if the jazz want him neto will stay. I dont see him going any where else and getting more playing time. he is a 3rd string PG in this league and I am happy to have him play that for Utah.

Center seems the most secure at this point with Gobert and Udoh being beast in the paint. Bradley might also be looking to supplant Udoh if not this year then when his contract is up in a year

Sg - also seems to be in good hand with Mitchell and O'Neale to back him up

The Jazz can also just go BPA and find a way to play them or move other pieces.

I still like Tillie on the Jazz. I think he is the best shooting big in this draft and could easily replace Jerebko in a year.
I also like taking a chance on Justin Jackson. You have to love players that are 6'8" with a 7'3" wing span. His 3 point shooting suffered this year but his shoulder issues could have been the cause.

Iowa St Freshman Lindell Wigginton is gonna test the draft waters.

Only 8 Freshman in Big 12 history scored more points than he just did.

Wiggington should test the waters. He's intriguing with that body and athleticism.

Yeah and if Trevon Duval has truly dropped to the mid-2nd rd. Wigginton has a chance to build a case over him.

He's very interesting to me as contrast point vs Devonte Graham too. It's not a classic Freshman/Potential vs Senior/Reliability situation. Graham will turn 24 during his rookie season, he's older than Exum. One week from today Wigginton turns 20, so he's advanced age for a Frosh.

I've always had a good feeling bout him. A cousin of his once askd me what I thought of him many years back and i've been following him ever since.. He's added a TON of strength since then, he's been on a pro training/diet regiment for a while now, very dedicated kid.

Shamet/Shake are still my favorites of the 2nd tier PGs (at least partially cause I think they have the most potential to play off ball of that crew).

Any thoughts on Jaylen Adams, feel like he never gets mentioned, and he doesn't seem all that far off of the 2nd round type guards.

Good player. Definitely in the 2nd rd conversation. I don't think they'll take him, I doubt they'll like him better than Williams-Goss.
