About what part? I'm not claiming Utah can get a star for #21. I think the starters are set with Rubio, Mitchell, Gobert, Ingles and Favs or Crowder. So the need is to find scoring off the bench. Are their vets that may be available for the #21 and other minor assets? Perhaps for teams wanting to rebuild or cut costs?

Mirotic has been tossed around as a possibility if NO decides to re-sign Cousins. I don't think that's a trade that NO has to make, though. There are other ways for them to trim payroll if needed.

Is a trade likely? Probably not. I think better options might be available at the deadline next Feb, with the expiring contracts of Burks and others, and if Utah has some better young prospects like this year's pick and hopefully a developing Bradley. I just brought up the possibility that anything is possible, especially on a team that, IMO, could use a more established, reliable scorer off the bench.

He's damn good withh the ball in his hands, especially turning a dreb into a transition opportunity he's like a guard and pushes the ball up court FAST. He's also a demon on the boards and he's a plus passer

Transition could be interesting, especially when you think Rubio and Mitchell are gonna be there long term and they're quite capable playing with pace. But oh boy, by what I could see the spacing with Vanderbilt would be really bad in the half court.
 
I like almost all of the guys on Cy's list. KBD could be ideal fit/talent wise. Huerter really tore the combine up.

Simmons is the one I'm wary of, but if the team loved him in workouts I couldn't really argue with it.

Our thoughts are fairly close on some (I am not as high...i.e. #1...on Ayton either) and pretty off on others (I’m not sure I could convince myself to draft Trae at all in the first....).

I have Jackson at #2 then Bamba. I’m also higher on Porter JR and lower on Evans than you.

This will all change in an hour, btw.

Doncic, Booker, Jackson and Warren are good foundation peices. The sins have money this summer to go out and offer or over pay for a center. They could offer the max to capela or steal favors from the jazz. If they felt so inclined they could offer a Max to cousins.

I hope your right. The Kings would take Ayton in that scenaio im sure though because he'd immediately make a big impact on the boards.

Ayton may be a better scorer in the post and mid-range, but even this may not be entirely clear cut or may not stay that way longer term. Jackson might also be a better roll-man and will also run the floor in transition and in transition defense. Ayton is a very impressive player, but he's not a clear-cut #1 pick to me, given the way the game has been evolving.

I'd take Ayton ahead of Bagley and probably Bamba though.

Ayton is a better shooter than JJJ.


Bamba is one of the great wildcards here, i still believe a case can be made for him to go first.
 
After an exhaustive search over 37 secs I’m unable to find Allen’s measurements (specifically height in shoes and reach/wingspan) from the combine.

Anyone have them off hand?

Revisiting Josh Okogie after he posted a 42" max vertical (best at the combine), 3.04-sec 3/4 court sprint (best at the combine and same as Mitchell, I think), measuring 6'4.5" with a ridiculous 7' wingspan. He shot 38% on 3s with over 4 attempts per game, and had 6.3 rpg, 1.0 bpg, 1.8 spg to go with 18.2 ppg as a sophomore in the ACC. His 2-pt efficiency wasn't great, but he shot 82% on FTs.

He's an NBA athlete with speed, length, vertical explosion and intangibles. As much as I've been raving about Zhaire Smith for his athletic highlight plays, Okogie is comparable and is the better player right now. He's still just 19 until September.

Zhaire Smith is the better player. Okogie is a fringe 1st rd talent, which is something ive long suspected, been saying i like him better than grayson allen for a while. Good hands too.

Still could go top 20. He plays bigger than those measurements and will be viewed as a SG.

JJJ is a better shooter and much better rim protector. Like Ayton doesnt even really protect the rim. He's all offense. JJJ could be elite.

6’7” lmao. His length jumped off the screen at me. Looks freakish. His athleticism leaves something to be desired for me though.

I couldn't agree more- i thought it was painfully obvious. But you look at any draft site during the college season they always had him at 6'7 because that was his listed height at tOSU.
