Following Potential 2018 Draftees

I agree with option A or B, but there is no option C level available. San Antonio would laugh at #4 and Parsons for Kawhi. I don't think Cleveland would take Parsons and #4 for Love. I think the "best" player Memphis could get with #4 and Parsons is maybe Wiggins.

#4 could get a whole bunch. Parsons is a massive anchor to #4. His contract turns #4 into a late lottery pick at best.

Yeah that's why I don't think C will happen. I think their best chance to dump Parsons will be if the Mavs really want Doncic.

Maybe something like...

Mavs get- #4 (Doncic) and Parsons
Grizzlies get- #5 and Wes Matthews

Mavs take a bigger contract with one extra year on it in order to get Doncic.
Grizzlies shed some salary, get a player who could help a little next year and stay in the top 5.

I think Doncic is best suited to go to a good team and make them better rather than simply just make any team relevant. So really, he would be perfect in Memphis because I do feel that they are a good team. They aren't contenders, but they are a 50 win team if everybody is healthy and they add a guy like Doncic.

I just get this feeling they are going to trade down to get cute. I have a feeling they want Porter and I'm not sure that's what Gasol and Conley need right now. He might be better than Doncic eventually, but nothing is certain.

I'm not really sure what Dallas needs. I feel like they want their cap space this summer so they can lure Cousins or Jabari or somebody else.

Word is ATL will take Doncic 3rd....

1 Ayton
2 Bagley
3 Doncic

4 ? MPJR ? JJJ ?

JJJ would be a good fit short term and provide some help... also the best LT prospect... although many here would make the argument for Bamba...

Ok? He's also not gonna be drafted 2 overall, not making 17mil a year, and is 18 years old.

RPM measures production, not production per contract dollar or production relative to draft capital expended to acquire a player. My point is simple. If a guy's upside is equaling the production of one of the least efficient players in the league, perhaps you should consider other options with your first round pick. That said, just finding a guy who's still in the NBA eight years later, like Turner, is probably an above median outcome for the 21st pick.

I don't have a problem if we trade up for Miles Bridges.

I think he’d be a boss for us... more I’ve listened to smart people talk about him the more I’ve said yup... yup.... yuppppppp.... all of that would work for us.

Not that it even matters but Mo didn't even send Memphis his medical info.... he doesn't wanna end up there...

Bad fit short term and many would likely make a Thabeet comp that isn’t fair.

Anfernee Simons to Portland would be interesting, getting to learn from Dame and McCollum might be one of his best landing spots for growth tbh...

Lakers gotta take a hard look at him too... seemingly great pair with Lonzo...

Comparing Josh Okogie to Miles Bridges, Okogie had more blocks, more steals, more FT attempts, a better 3-pt %, and otherwise comparable shooting numbers playing as a guard on a much crappier team at Ga. Tech.

He gives up 2 inches and 10 lbs to Bridges, but has 3.5" more wingspan and he's a markedly quicker in the open floor. I think you can play Okogie at the 3 and do just as well. If instead of asking Okogie to carve up defenses with his dribble you let him slash from the wing, I think he'll be an effective player.
I think the matter here is a positional one, and I think that 2 inches and 10 pounds is enough to make one a believable 4 and the other not so much.

Every team could use a 3+D wing, but no team needs one less than the Jazz.
