Following Potential 2020 draftees

I’ll admit I’ve only seen highlights of the guy, and sure he’s athletic but nothing like KVH was and yes this dude looks lazy and clueless on defense from that vid you posted. Regardless, he fails in comparison as far as the total package of athleticism goes compared to KVH.
I mean, if Poku is able to put on good weight watch out.

I don’t think I’d be comparing the two. KVH was strong, playing with contact, well put together and very athletic and coordinated
KVH is 3 years older than Poku in the vids we're comparing. Poku is the youngest player in the draft and won't turn 19 until Dec. 26. He has a really skinny upper body, but pretty solid legs, a similar build to Kirilenko. If AK could get up to 230+ lbs, Poku should be able to get to 200 - 225lbs. Poku filled out would look similar to Anzejs Pasecniks on the Wizards, but Poku is more fluid and naturally skilled than Pasecniks.

We're projecting here, but the Jazz have done well drafting physically underdeveloped Euro players who have high ceilings. When you draft in the 20s, you have to be willing to roll the dice a bit. Jazz should be looking at Poku and McDaniels, unless they just fall in love with someone like Flynn or Bey.

I do actually think Poku is pretty comparable to AK. Both high feel players, I just dont know if Poku has AK's level of hustle/energy (yes, I know AK got uninterested later in his career, but early on he was a high hustle/effort player).

If he really cant defend at all on the perimeter though I have a tough time seeing him being very good. I dont think he is going to be able to put on 5 weight and I dont think he has the mindset to be a NBA 5 unless his talent is just so extreme.

In all, I think it's a gamble you take (or, to be more correct, I think it's a gamble someone else will take before we get the chance).

Just wanna throw it out there that the furthest I think RJ Hampton can fall is to 19 and the Nets. Heard he's been impressing teams with his shooting in workouts, which if true it's hard for me to beleive he even falls to 19.

I think thats really an ideal landing spot for him too. With Kyrie and KD and the talent they have in the fold, his skillset fits right in and he provides them insurance on Dinwiddie.

How about the report that James Wiseman doesnt want to go #1 to the Timberwolves..... LMAOOOOOO... Last mock I posted here had Wiseman #1...

I knew all along; the people who do these mocks and kick that kids perceived value around, projecting him like 8th or 9th, were lacking critical information.

A player the quality of James Wiseman does not fall that far in a draft of this strength.. Thats my story and im sticking to it.

This was reported by Brian Windhorst, he said the reasoning is the presence of KAT. I think thats foolish as **** tho. Maybe Wiseman wouldnt put up crazy stats at his peak with KAT around, but I think he'd really hit the ground running like I've said before 14ppg 9boards and a block and ahalf, something like that, and stand by it.

If Golden State gets in a position to trade that #2 pick down... Lemme just predict they want to trade back and land Deni Avdija

Yeah, I don't trust his shooting though.
If his shooting was without question he would not be around where we are picking. I think he is an NBA player even if he never becomes a really good shooter. If he gets to 35-40% on medium volume then I think he could be great. I see no reason that he can't be a Torrey Craig level guy and has a chance to be more.

If he can develop a shot, then Tyler Bey becomes an all star. But that's a story we have heard a million times.
No, he probably wouldnt. He would have to develop a shot and an ability to handle and attack. If he has a shot he can be like a Jerami Grant on offense.

His physical metrics are crazy good. And he is a fast defensive player with length which the Jazz have signaled strongly what they want. So don't be surprised...

Ok, please point the All-Stars out in the past who are like Tyler Bey....

I'm likely the higher on Bey than most everyone (besides yourself) as I have him 14 on my big board, but there is just very very very little chance he ever becomes an All-Star. If he develops a dangerous 3pt shot you might be looking at a bouncy Robert Covington, but that isnt an All-Star, it's just a damn good starter.

The dream is Kahwi, a good outcome is Robert Covington. More likely, he is Trevor Ariza.

Well at least you used the term dream because that's the only chance Bey has at being anything like Kawhi.
His wingspan is Kevin Durant like. And he is the highest jumper in the draft. And he is known for his defense. Just improve the offensive area (there is a lot to do there). Kawhi was a crappy shooter by the way.

I would put his chances at ever being a primary on-ball option at less than 1%. He just isnt a ball-handler, playmaker, or shot creator and there is very little to suggest that is in the cards.

His upside is a high level multi-positional defender who is a + finisher and respectable low volume 3pt shooter (like a Royce). I don't think he even has the ability to be a volume shooter like Covington.

Bey can have be a big impact player but will not have the numbers or game to be an all star. High level glue guys can have a huge value without being an all star.

Okay, but you can sign Glenn Robinson III to come off the bench at around the league minimum. I like Tyler Bey, but right now to me he projects as a back-up a la Larry Nance Jr., unless he can get his shooting up to at least 36%. That was more or less the magic number that got Royce O'Neale time on the floor. Bey is the type of versatile defender the Jazz should be looking for, and I would think the Jazz take Bey if they trade back to #26 or #27.

Personally, I might go for Paul Reed ahead of Tyler Bey. I like the extra size, and I like Reed's ability to play downhill.
