What's new

Following Potential 2025 Draftees

I’d be really happy with Kas at 6 if that’s where we land (which I think is our most likely position btw). He’s still very much in the 3-6 conversation for me.

The only guys who I can realistically see cracking that top 6 for me are Traore if he continues to play better or Newell if the shot starts falling more (it’s been much improved).

Queen and Maluach are entering the hell no territory for me.

No brainer. Franchise changing.

1. Flagg

Almost no brainer. Very, very happy.

2. Harper

Difficult/Interchangeable. Would be happy with any.

3. Bailey
4. Johnson
5. Edgecombe
6. Jakucionus

Man this sucks zone.

7. Kon
8. Traore
9. Newell
10. Demin

Nobody else I have in consideration for our first pick, but other guys I generally like and would hope fall to the MIN pick. No order.

Fears
Bryant
Fleming
Sorber
Thiero
Wolf

I'm currently feeling pretty comfortable on the NCAA guys, as far as who they are and what kind of prospect I would rate them. I really don't know how to rate the international guys right now.

Tre is going to be a significant offensive player. If you look at these plays, he's doing many of them without much help. Imagine if he's playing off of real screening actions to get open looks in the NBA.

Can he be a lead guard who runs the offense in the NBA? An undersized 2 guard with no real athleticism is a 6th man material at best. A good lotto pick still but not so sure about being in the top 5.

He has plus size for a 2 guard. 6'6 with a 6'10 wingspan. Please don't say **** you don't know about

Was listening to Locked talk about how most of our rookie 2nd year guys are absolutely awful defenders and damn, we really ****ing need Cooper Flagg
Yeah that was a pretty depressing summary of our young players. Unless we have some lotto luck, we may in for a long and brutal rebuild.

6’6 is standard size for SG, not plus size lol. And that's assuming he's indeed 6’6 cuz 6’4/6’5 guys posing as 6’6 is hardly anything new. And like I said, without plus athleticism he could struggle and play smaller than he actually is.

Bruce Thornton, a 6'2 215 lb junior PG for OSU, has really good stats this year. Has had two 30 points games vs ranked opponents. Wonder if he gets some buzz and comes out or stays the full 4 years.

Cam Thomas is a little bit of brains and defensive effort away from being an all star. The difference between he and Herro is mostly maturity and defensive effort. He is probably a top 10-15 scorer in the league, I don't know how that is an insult unless you are guaranteeing that Tre Johnson will be all star. If you find it to be an insult, I think you probably don't know much about Cam Thomas or just have unreasonable expectations. Expectations must be sky high if an efficient 25 PPG is an insult. What would be non insulting expectation, 30 a game? Leading the league in scoring?

Defense is obviously a concern for Tre, but I also wonder about his ability to put pressure on the rim. Is he being restricted a bit due to his conditions at Texas? Honestly, he might be like Herro and be good enough anyways without a ton of rim pressure.

We are dead last in defense 2x in a row despite having one of the best rim protectors in the league. Pretty much everything sucks on defense outside of Kessler. The vets, the young guys, the coaching. All are complicit.

BYU won a game last night against a top 25 team and BYU had 29 turnovers.
College basketball teams were 0-117 in games against top 25 teams when they had 29 turnovers or more.

By the way, i believe that is 7 wins in a row now and 3 were against top 25 teams, 2 of which were on the road.
