Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Actually at 10am Utah time Demin announced he was going pro, said he was staying in the draft.
Some still think he stays at BYU. There is no rule saying that if you say you are going pro that you can't decide to return to college.

As good as William Clayton Jr sounds he seems to be another undersized guard
Hope Jazz don't pick him for that reason
I generally agree with you, but also think he’s someone to watch. There’s something to be said for gritty players that have the hardware to prove it. Our squad could use more of that.

I'm pro-Clayton as a prospect (obviously, as a CBB player, I am enamored).

He's small and I doubt he measures well. So that's a huge knock / ceiling right off the bat. But his catch and shoot, shooting off the dribble, and absurdly quick release should translate. You also just have to love his clutch makeup. He straight put that team on his back against UConn, TX Tech and Auburn. I think he turns into a plus version of Patty Mills (better shooting) which would be great value in the second half of the first round.

I will also add (vibes guy comment) - how many of the guys, even the upperclassmen, who have had an all-time NCAA Tournament run like that have been NBA busts? I can think of Shabazz Napier, but the others I can think of - Kemba, McCollum, Andre Miller, Steph, Hayward, D-Wade et al - all went on to very good NBA careers.

I understand the perspective of not overreacting to the NCAAs. It's < = 6 games. But for the guys who absolutely crush it - it's highest-level basketball, against the best teams in the country, who are keying against you every game and you still go out and get yours. There's something there with respect to prospect evaluation.

Id kick the tires on him but not over Carter Bryant

According to the Game Theory podcast he already measured for something in the past and wasn't that small, I think 6'2.5" w/o shoes. Plus he had a pretty good vert, 37".

Demin is not coming back. BYU already has his replacement and they’re paying Rob Wright $3.5M to be that guy.

Rob Wright is a good player but not someone who I’ll enjoy seeing play next to Dybantsa.

How could you forget Trey Burke? that pick by itself makes it almost impossible for me to be down with the strategy

Even after announcing to the world? Why risk falling out of the first round. Too big a risk, and I don’t see it.
I don't see it either I'm simply explaining to you that declaring for the draft doesn't mean he can't return to college

Better shooting Patty Mills is crazy because Mills is a career 39% volume shooter. If you could guarantee that outcome, he's probably a lottery/mid teens pick.

JT Toppin returning to school. I thought he might be a sleeper option for the Jazz with the Twolves pick, depending on where that lands.

Edit: NIL is having a real effect. It's risk-free rookie-scale, or better, for a lot of these guys, and for half the number of games.
