What's new

Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

If the Jazz drafted Bruno or Kab at 23 then found a way to move up in the 2nd round to get a wing like Windler, Brazdeikis, King, Bazley, etc., that would be a really good draft for them.

I think we are taking Carsen Edwards. Between Exum and Edwards, you have everything you should need from your PG position when you have a guy like Donovan at SG and sometimes PG.

Of course that means Exum must evolve into a healthy, defense first, drive and kick type PG who can hit wide open threes at an acceptable rate. And that also means that Edwards becomes a strong scorer and decent enough defender first guy off the bench type guy. If Exum is a Beverley and Edwards is a VanVleet (IN TERMS OF ROLES NOT CLONES), our PG spot should be fine and we can use free agent money on wings and PFs.

I still hate the idea of drafting a backup C at #23 (eg Bruno/Kabengele). We did that just a couple seasons ago and that player has yet to see the court.

Look at this guy and tell me he doesn't look like a Jazz player. It's like Gordon Hayward and Jonas Jerebko had a baby.

His comps on the Ringer are Jazz broadcaster Matt Harpring, Jazz coach "a Bond villain," and he's mocked to the Jazz. Done deal

Yeah, but the Jazz are probably going to lose both Favors and Udoh. Bradley was a 19 year-old project who wasn't ready anyway.

Where the Jazz are drafting at #23, assuming nobody with more pedigree drops, Kab/Bruno are high-value picks. You could put Daniel Gafford in this conversation too. To get a big of that caliber in the 20s is worth considering. Obviously, the Jazz are going to want someone who can play a bit on the perimeter, but it sounds like Bruno may check that box. Kab can at least hit 3s.

If the Jazz can get back into the early or mid-2nd round (they can trade Bradley and 53), they might be able to get a good guard or wing too--e.g., Weatherspoon, Brazdeikis, Leque, etc. Maybe they can even get Paschall.

My new upside comp for KZ Okpala is Josh Howard circa the Dallas Mavericks. Okpala's shooting would really have to come together though.

I was just browsing through some stats for various prospects and this one stood out. Bol Bol had a 63.2% TS% and a 61.0% eFG% despite only 38.6% of his FG attempts being taken at the rim.

Props to all the Pat McCaw supporters, can ya believe that guy has 3 championships in 3 nba seasons?! many thought he was too skinny!

Same birthday!

Crazy the way KD and Klay went down in the finals... Warriors shoulda paid that man!!! LOL

Who knew Pat McCaw would sway the championship scales?

Claxton may have a promise from Atlanta at #17, which would explain why Claxton shut down workouts a week early.

Now that makes sense!! I believe it...

I really think Claxton is a hard player to make a case against...

He's a new-age skillset and big enough to play backup 5.

This would also have implications on ATL's first 2 picks... Obviously one will be a forward, at least one...

If there was some way to trade up I like a gamble on Romeo Langford. Although I'm not a fan of trading up this year.

If the price is right this is a gamble worth taking.

Really like the fit for all parties tbh.

Mitchell - Langford - Ingles-is an extremely viable perimeter trio.Quinn could figure out how to make it work asap...

Langford is in no way redundant with Exum, different postionally, both are 6'6' thats bout it.
