For real doe... It should probably be Randle

but is this team a better one with Randle aboard?
would they then send Kanter, re-sign Hayward and Marv and draft McDaniels with the 23rd?
draft the B"pg"A in the second round?
Burke / Neto (?)/ 2. round scrub who might end up being passable
Burks / Hayward /McDaniels
Hayward / Marv / McDaniels
Randle / Marv / Evans
Favors / Go-Bear

I am looking at this and think that this team is not a better team than this season's Jazz.
so here is my bold claim
Jazz will draft small, PG/SG whatever.
They know at 5th. you a draft a good big but this will mean marginal improvement, if ever that is attained of course.
so I expect a Smart, Exum move on behalf of Jazz and for that they may trade down. too.

add-on: Jordan McRae of Vols. will be a Jazz player, I've just had a vision.

I think the starting lineup first game of the season would be:

Burke/vet PG
Hayward/Burks
Marvin/McDaniels
Kanter/Randle
Favors/Gobert

Then about 3/4 through the season will likely become:

Burke/vet PG
Hayward/Burks
Randle/McDaniels
Kanter/Marvin
Favors/Gobert

With Randle at the SF position, the Jazz are a HUGE team up front, grabbing rebounds left right and center. If Randle develops into the player I think he could be (an offensive powerhouse with playmaking ability), then he will draw double team all day long.

In fact I see Randle being the only player we can get at #5 or lower that will likely draw double team, and can become our leading scorer.

Since everyone has brought up Randle's "will to win", let's say Utah takes Randle at 5. Vonleh goes 6, Gordon goes 7, Sacramento is on the clock at 8. Does Sacramento take Kanter and Burke for #8? That gives you:

PG - Smart vs Burke
SG - Hayward/Burks
SF - ??? vs ???
PF - Randle vs Favors
C - Favors/Gobert vs Kanter

I think we come out better at every position except maybe, PF. Maybe. Sacramento gets another ball hog in Kanter, and a good PG situation in Thomas/Burke.

Eh. Just wasting time here.

You have kanter in the trade and then also kanter as a possible option at center in our lineup.

I like it. We trade him and then they give him back to us for nothing.

I am not going to be upset with Smart, Exum, Randle or Gordon tbh. Just really wanted Parker or Wiggins.

Out of Smart, Randle, or Gordon, I am only excited about getting Randle. Getting another PG isn't exciting and I just don't see the hype with Gordon.

I like the fire Randle brings. He just seem like a guy who loves basketball and wants to go out and kill you. I wish we could get into the top 4 somehow but with what's left I want Randle. Vonleh is just too meh for me as well. Didn't stand out when I saw him.

Wait wait wait...... so you think randle can play sf?

Randal was right up there as the big three in college basketball started. I don't follow College at all even in March. So what happened between November and May to make people cringe worthy about taking him at 5?

I didnt take these into consideration.

Good answer

Both things that can be improved. I've heard people say he doesn't have much upside, but his biggest weaknesses, the suspect shot, the loose dribble, the lack of ability to go right, the court vision, defense - all those things can be improved. Because most of his issues are things that can be improved, that tells me he has a ton of upside.

my only issue is that he seems destined to be a 17 and 9 guy in the NBA and we already have two of those. A lot of analytics point to a two PG backcourt as the next big thing. I like the three guard rotation we would have with smart, burks and burke.

Before the year he was right there with Wiggins and Parker. What did he do that was so disappointing? His team underachieved, but he didn't. He walks into the NBA as a double double guy, and he's at least Zach Randolph.

I really hate to say something that KKKKKKKKKKK would say. But he really does want to win more than anyone else, and I think that's important. It'd be great to see him yelling at Hayward and Kanter to actually try.

Basically, It would be easier to teach Randle to defend than to teach Gordon how to score.

Loose dribble? Court vision? Defense? Has there been a single player on our current roster who has improved significantly in any of these attributes? Lol let alone all three.

Seems? ****! He has ****ing Cee Lo Queen arms for ****s sake. He's going to be a 17 and 9 guy without a doubt.

BTW, I didn't read this cake sheet eating thread or anything you were talking about. I'm off to find the Darft this stupid **** from Australia thread...

Hayward has improved in all three areas. Burks court vision and handle has improved.

them ships have sailed, boy. We aint sniffing Wiggins. Small, SMALL chance at Parker. Only if we trade up. No one will trade down from Wiggins.

Hayward has improved in all three areas.

significantly?? Might wanna read my post more carefully. Not really tbh

Burks court vision and handle has improved.
Alec's role has taken on a larger scope. If you watched him in college, he still does the same things that he's doing now.

Of our entire core, I'd say the only strong improvement I've seen is the court-vision of Alec Burks. Hayward has had good vision, a decent handle, and good defense since his rookie year. Kanter has regressed (lol) in certain areas, and Favors has had incremental improvements offensively.

Offense is a lot more improvable than any of the attributes you mentioned. I cannot remember the last 3/4 who came into the league with a weak handle, and it tremendously improved over time. Maybe Paul Millsap? Again, there's no point in drafting Julius Randle when we just let go of Paul Millsap. Vonleh or bust.
