What's new

For those of you BYU pukes cheering Jimmer...

Hey guys.......sorry I'm late. I just........

Whoa. Everyone ok? You guys all look really pissed about something.

So, do we find out who's **** is longer? BYU's or Utah's?

Just taking a shot in the dark here, but people's love or hatred for Jimmer seems more based on the underlying issues of Utah's clashing cultures and not the actual kid from New York.

Maybe it's just cause you take everything so damn personal that you've decided to boo Jimmer based upon differing beliefs. So maybe, just maybe, you're not actually booing Jimmer. You're booing that one (or more) Mormon(s) that offended/annoyed you over the years.

Yeah, seems fair to boo one kid.....instead of being secure with your own beliefs that you shouldn't give a **** what others think, just like an emotionally healthy person should.

I like this post.

Why does disliking the cheering of Jimmer have to be a Mormon thing? My Mormon grandma hates his guts. I think some on this board are being a little overly sensitive.

After reading this thread, I have no doubt that the OP and some others who have posted in this thread belong to the Draper School Board. They recently found the mascot "cougar" offensive to middle-aged women. They have now changed the school's mascot to the Chargers.

Idiotic. Just idiotic.

Did you read the OP? I'm pretty sure that's what people are responding to, guy.

Well obviously the OP is tarded. No use in responding to his trollish post. But some on here have accused those posting "anti-Jimmer" comments of being deep down, anti-Mormon. That may be the case for some. You did this very thing in response to Numbs post. He didn't mention Mormon's once, but you assumed his critique of Jimmer supporters at the game was anti.

Again, some are being overly sensitive here and making some pretty big, disturbing assumptions.

Thanks for the compliment re: the LDS church. As Jesus said in the Bible, the foundation of a church should be built upon the rocks, not upon the sand.
[h=3]Matthew 7:24-27[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]24[/SUP]Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
[SUP]25[/SUP]And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
[SUP]26[/SUP]And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: [SUP]27[/SUP]And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Bahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! Well done sir.

At first I was annoyed by the cheers but understood them but when the cheers kept going whenever he touched the ball I was like that is a bit much. But after taking a step back I realized (as has been reaffirmed reading JF) it is more likely that those continuous cheers aren't from Jazz fans they are Y transplants and are the same ones cheering for LA or Boston when they come to town.
Also believe it or not I didn't initially think the booing was Ute fans I thought it was Jazz fans booing the cheering fans and trying to drowned them out as well, happens all the time when LA or any other opposing teams fans get loud. But I'm also a realist and realize that the U fans probably enjoyed the booing a little more then normal.

Wrong. I said, where ever there's a thread bashing Mormons, you're sure to find NUMERICA. Coincident? Maybe. But I never said he was being anti-mormon in this thread, guy.

If this is real, it is the most awesome thing in the history of mankind. Please be real.

EDIT: Just looked it up, and it IS real. Oh thank you, wonderful God, I shall never question your infinite wisdom and mysterious ways again.

I was at the game, wearing a U of U hat and a Paul Millsap jersey, the tickets were tickets that I won from the Jazz for downloading the Jazz app (Top row, section 118, behind the american flag...so I had a good view of the arena and everyone in it) and I can tell you, the Boo's for Jimmer were not just coming from U of U fans, they were also coming from regular Jazz fans who wanted to drown out the cheers from the Jimmer-ettes..

Look, cheer the guy pre-game, even cheer his first shot as a sign of respect or whatever, but to start chants for the guy, and cheer EVERY. SINGLE. TOUCH. and EVERY. SINGLE. MADE SHOT. Is a bit much...

Has anyone who was at the game, that was cheering for Jimmer to do well, said anything about what they would have done if he had hit that shot and won the game for them? Would they have cheered for the loss of their own team? Would they had been happy with the result, just because Jimmer would have been the hero? Would they have been pissed that the Jazz let another one slip away? I'm just curious...

Also, I'm soooooo glad we didn't get the chance with the Burks pick to draft Jimmer...oh my hell, every game, having every bYu moron there doing chants and what-not just to get him into the game, ughhh...I would seriously, (this is coming from a Jazz fan since i could remember, like 1983-84), seriously, consider burning all my Jazz stuff, and becoming a fan of some other team, like the T-Wolves, or something...just so I wouldn't be associated with that level of lameness

IF he had hit that shot this thread would have gone nuclear, cause the Jimmer-ites would have brought the house down. I have no doubt they would have stormed the court and tried to put him on their shoulders.

Aren't they afraid they will offend people who use their credit cards frequently?

Freak, your response gave me the giggles. As did your avatar.

I don't care what religion any of you are, but if you're ever at one of your religious gatherings and you find that your fellow worshipers (including the children) are being strongly encouraged to stand in front of the congregation and say the words "I know this church is true," you should be seriously questioning why the leaders of that church find it so important to compel people to make that sort of commitment in front of their friends and neighbors.

If you recognize that behavior as being a part of the church where you worship I know you won't like hearing this, but that is a central element of the practice of brainwashing.

Again, I ask you which beliefs you cannot question in the LDS Church. I have never been told to ignore my doubts. In fact, I've been encouraged to learn truths from a variety of books and sources and study things out in my mind. Truth is light; the Glory of God is Intelligence. The trick is to determine what "truths" are absolute and which ones are just theories based upon our current levels of understanding (such as when everyone KNEW the earth was flat and the sun revolved around the earth). Now the principle of faith is universal across all Christian religions. Some things we do accept, Do you absolutely know there is a God? Do you know Jesus is your Savior and paid for your sins? I don't. I've never seen or spoken to them. Should I honor my father and mother? Let's go one higher...why not commit adultery if I'm discreet and use protection? Many things - large and small - we accept on faith. Some behavioral standards have been codified into laws in our society; some have not.

I have given you deserved rep points!!

It always suprises me how many Jazz Fanz are Anti LDS... or at least on Jazz Fanz. I believe there are good people in every faith and you could easily say every faith has something people can point out as questionable. I think we should all just respect each other and the beliefs and tenets that we hold dear. doing so equals true christianity. if we can't do that than i don't see real christianity there.

This thread seems to be dying down a bit.

Time to light the fire.
