What's new

Ford 6.0

I don't like the idea of trading burks (made improvement, you know what you have right now, solid and could come off the bench) for any of the point guards (for me they all have bust potential). If they trade burks then it better be for a top 5 pick like olapido.

Yeah I just don't like thinking about him being traded for a potential bust player that we don't know.

Ford has Bazz dropping all the way to the 18th, would the Jazz really pass on a guy who could be our potential go to scorer for not even a PG?

For the record I would be pisssssed off if Shabazz was there at 14 and we passed on him. Seriously pissed.

It depends if they think Bazz could be a legit first option, and even if he is, can he be a capable passer out of a double team. I think the Jazz could look past the character issues.

What does it say that Lucas Nogueira, who many mocks have us taking, worked out in SLC and you heard nothing about it? I'm trying to find articles about him and there isn't much written by the SL media about his workout. They mostly just focused on Bazz bailing. Is this more of an indictment on the crappy SL media? Or is this a sign that the Jazz are really interested in him and want him to keep a low profile?

The more I've seen this draft... And the more I've seen of Nogueira... I say, "Meh,why not?" Not often are you going to find an athletic specimen like him outside of the top 10. Since more of the players available at 14 are going to suck anyway, why not swing for the fences on this one? I have my concerns over him adapting to our culture and having a motor... But whatever. Most of the jokes suggested at 14 are going to be out of the league and in Europe anyway as soon as their rookie contracts expire.

The Jazz OWN the SL media. Could be a sign they want Nogueira to fly under the radar. We did hear that comment by the Jazz' international scout about a foreign "sleeper." That could be Nogueira.

All the people that went on missions down in Brazil or Portugal could speak Portugese with him and show him all the best Brazilian places, they could also send him to RSL games like they sent players to local college and high school games.

Wouldn't work but him at the 5 and Evans at the 4 would make for one fast high flying but way to skinny front court.

But a lot of franchises warmed up towards Nogueira lately. The sleeper comment could only mean that the others think it's a reach to draft him in the teens. Confusing....

All I know is if the Jazz want to piss off their fan base they should draft what DX has us drafting.. Mason Plumlee @ #14??? Barrrff!

I don't know how I feel trading Burks for anyone in this draft. I see a lot of promise in him and hate knowing he was never given a fair chance in the Alfense way of playing basketball.

Despite the lack of superstars at the top, this seems like a pretty solid year for centers: Noel, Len, Zeller, Nogueira, Adams, Dieng, Olynyk, Gobert. I think all of those guys can be solid rotation players. Latest mock on nbadraft.net has the first five being drafted before Utah picks, pushing MCW down to Utah at #14. Draft is such a crap shoot all the way up and down the board.

I think it's more just a sign that the Jazz worked out 80 players and there's not enough time/space for the media to discuss all of them in depth.

For the record I also wouldn't give Burks up for most players in this draft and the teams that would have a high enough pick wouldn't be interested. Also I don't know enough about the Brazilian kid to be mad, sad or happy I would just be in a wait and see mode.

I think Canaan would be almost a wasted pick at #21. The guy played slow and passive this year.

If players like Franklin, Rice Jr., Ledo and Goodwin are on the board that just adds insult to the injury of taking Canaan. Olynyk at 21 would also be a great pick.

I'd also take Wolters ahead of Canaan if it really came down to it. Wolters is the possibility here that no one is talking about.

Imma say

14: Nogueira
21: Ledo
46: Kabongo

I like all these guys, the only thing they are all pretty much projects. Which I guess would be very good if we are going young. Might as well swing for the fences.
