What's new

Francisco Elson

No thanks. He sucks. No inside game. Average defender. Gets backed down easily. Not even a real center.

We should only sign guys who are legit Centers defensively.

I'd rather give Sean Williams a stab at it. He's got more ability and upside.

Aren't we pretty much limited to minimum wage type of players at this point? Not sure what we can expect from these last few roster spots. Seriously doubt there are many "legit defensive centers" out there at minimum wage. Not that many Wesley Matthews out there either. I hope they can find one, but I see us having a shorter bench this year.

Mbenga or Etan Thomas are the only options I like.

We should keep Fesenko also. But we want guys who are physically built to guard Centers but also protect the basket with shot blocking.

MBenga is my choice.

Mbenga is my choice too. I think he could give the Jazz some minutes as a backup. He is strong and athletic.

Elson is 34 years old, and he's never really been good. He had a couple acceptable season back in Denver, but he's slow and just sucks. I'd rather take a chance on a rookie or DL player.

at least we know the FO is indeed looking for a backup PF/C. i hope they take a look at Etan Thomas and Earl Barron.

Who is the best defensive big in the D-league from last season? He'd probably be better than whatever's left on the scrap heap of the FA market.

Holy **** this guy looks like he'd love to go one-on-one with Amaechi.

Yeah, there is better stuff to dredge up out of the undrafted/unsigned free-agents pool (N'Diaye should be available soon, I don't know), someone out of the D-League, Mbenga, or Collins. Maybe David Andersen or Yiannis Bouroussis. Or Fesenko. And Sean Williams is not a terrible idea either.

Just not Elson.
