What's new

Frank the Tank or The anti small ball stategy - Play 3 seven footers who can defend the 3, 4, and 5.

Really? Klove?

What about Money Memo?

Why doesn't he get any love on this board? Money Memo was a fantastic white player. Frank actually reminds me a lot of Memo's game. The problem always was that Memo needed to either come off our bench or not play with a guy like Boozer.
He was talking about american tall white guys that can shoot.
Memo not from America

Memo with this squad would be sick. Raining 3's, Rudy cleaning up the long rebounds, one step to the rim from the free throw line for the dunk. How about a lineup of Favors, Memo, and Gobert. Wow.

That said, imagine Hornacek with this squad. What would a lineup of Exum, Horny, Hayward, Favors, Gobert be able to do?

We can have Money Memo back. All we have to do is draft Frank.

I honestly cannot explain why people aren't crazy for him. Is he going to be a superstar? Probably not. But most of the guys we hear about in this draft at 12 are going to be out of the league in a few years anyway. None of them would have the immediate impact Frank would. I'm tired of planning for 3+ years down the road. It's time to win now. If turner ends up being a slightly better individual player 5 years down the road who cares? We don't have the time to wait on our 12th pick to figure out how to play basketball.

If you want us to keep drafting talented raw projects then go become a Sixers fan. I'm personally tired of it. It's time to get into the playoffs next year.

Frank on this jazz team adds length, height, sorely needed shooting, and is the ultimate complement to our bigs. If he can play some time at the 4, he and Gobert are going to wreck this league. Frank opens driving lanes for Exum, Burks, and Hayward.

We can talk about looney and turner all we want. But Frank/memo on this jazz team would be nasty. And the best part is, we don't have to wait 5 years for him to grow up. He's already got the skill set. He is what he is.

I don't follow college ball that closely but I was thinking along the same lines as Thriller about Kaminsky. He seems just like what Dr. Quin is ordering -- getting him or not could be the reason Tomic is on hold, I mentioned this in another thread.

I like Kaminsky's floor spacing more than Tomic's passing. Naturally, they're not mutually exclusive, but I'd rather run an efficient tight rotation than trying to give everyone minutes. That and Frank hasn't been teasing us for 7 years.

That step back at :46 reminds me sooooo much of Money Memo it's sad. If that soft 3 pt shot doesn't bring jazz nation to its feet I don't know what will.

Will he ever be Dwight Howard or KD? No. But I'd say the basement is a bigger more athletic Red Rocket. Honestly, the Red Rocket would probably look like an all star alongside Gobert. While the ceiling is something like Ryan Anderson of Money Memo. Which is EXACTLY what we need to play with our frontline right now. Frank Kaminsky and the Utah Jazz make so much sense right now

How is this for a starting 5:

3 Bigs - 2 great weakside defenders, Favors could guard the 3 spot, Rudy can clean up the mess, Favors good midrange, Kaminsky a deep Memo like threat with passing ability, and Rudy dunks are frosting. Plus you have two scorers, facilators, and passers in Gordon and Rodney.

Rudy
Favors
Kaminsky
Gordon
Rodney

I can only co-sign on the Jazz taking Frank if he has that sick headband-safety glasses combo that he rocked on one play of that highlight.

No one is questioning Frank on the offensive end, but we never asked Okur to have to guard on the perimeter, and Frank would be having to do that all the time at the PF in today's NBA game.
We're putting him in a different role, and in a different era.

He won't ever be DPOY.

But isn't that what Gobert is for? Besides, his shooting clears the lane for our offensive players. Memo in today's league would be devastating.

Besides, it's not as if anyone else at 12 is crazy good. Might as well draft a specialist who can add some badly needed shooting for us.

I would have frank back up rudy and booker back up favors. In that scenario booker guards the perimeter big.

Giannis "Greek Freak" Antetokounmpo, mother******!

Get it done DL. And to be honest, with what Golden State has done in shifting Draymond Green to center at times makes me really like super athletic, defensive minded players like Stanley Johnson and Myles Turner even more. Dynamic scorers still have to play defense against a team like that. Thankfully, I think they've only got 2 good years left. Too many injury issues between Bogut, Iggy and Curry not to have an issue come up somewhere and with Curry, Green and Barnes needing paydays coming up their bench is going to be spread thin. Plus, they've given up a fair number of assets to put together the team they have right now.

Could have had him had they not traded up for ****ing Burke......

Nah, not even close. Justise is way better.
I agree. I'm a big justise fan.

I might take him 3rd overall
