What's new

Frank the Tank

And yes I know he might want to go back to LA or Houston. Just an out of the box thought.

Watched the video, not too shabby a passer either. No not strong like Kanter, but lighter on his feet for sure. And definitely a good 3-pt shooter, see that release and rotation on his shots.

I’m gonna throw out a name that seems to make no sense given our needs. I don’t think he’d be that expensive but hear me out.

Deandre Jordan. If we opted out of Faves and signed him to a 2/20, we’d could use our remaining 7M on Jamychael Green and the room exception on Caruso.

We’d have 48 minutes of intimidation. Jordan improved infinitely last year from the FT line. He’d be insurance for Gobert. And I think for about 4-6 minutes a game, we could play he and Gobert together with three of our best shooters (Ingles, O’Neale and someone else) on the floor. I think Jordan’s quick enough on the perimeter to defend 4’s and Gobert would be behind him if he’s not.

Mainly, we’d be getting a really good player at a reasonable price, have insurance for Gobert, have a major asset at the deadline that we could trade, and improve our depth.

Conley-Caruso
Mitchell-Exum
Ingles-O’Neale
Green-Niang
Gobert-Jordan

If possible, we could also re-up Sef for additional stretch 4/leadership/depth.

With Green, Ingles, O’Neale, and Sef, I think we’d be fine at the 4.

This is some damn good creative thinking. Honestly, I’m a tad worried about our depth at the center position if we let Favors go. Maybe it’s all those years with AK and Boozer that have scarred me, but We’ve had a few years now of relatively good health from our stars. Are we due for an injury? Lord I hope not. If we lose Gobert for any amount of time our defense and rebounding go to crap.

Jordan 100 percent erases those concerns.

And I want Caruso. Not even joking. I think he should absolutely be a priority for this team. Terrific backup to Conley and Mitchell. If we get Caruso in our offense plug him in for a candidate for the 6th man award.

Kaminsky couldn't get off the bench in Charlotte - what little I saw of him this past season he was horrid.

I'm always cautious when a bad/mediocre team doesn't make it a priority on resigning their own player

Yep, but Locke is interested in Orlando's Jerian Grant....

The difficulty is the cba requires a minimum contract that is above what the guy is worth. Puts teams in a bad spot on players they like but just not in a role commensurate with the base pay. Jerian or Frank might be great for 800k and the 10th player on the roster.

About Frank....Im still hopeful Justin Patton has healthy feet and an intrest in playing with Mitchell.
