Free Agent Point Guard

Best available FA PG options in order for me;
1. Tinsley
2. Beabouis
3. Telfair

Not so tempting though..

I think I would rank them:

1. Alec Burks
2. who cares.....

Or did we all forget that Alec also made the pilgramag to Spokane. Or How Alec played as the PG last year when Mo, Watson, and Tinsley were all hurting. Give Alec the Ball. It is a season of discovery, discover what Burks can do for you.

I agree. It also might allow the jazz to keep a nonguaranteed guy at a different position for awhile.

Backcourt needs more shooting? Call Arenas!
Moar passing? Trade for Sessions!
Leadership? Trade for Andre Miller(expiring, next year non guaranteed)
Will Bynum might be available in Detroit with their guard logjam.
I like all of the aforementioned except one...Figure it out!

Other options might be Kendall Marshall(2nd of GS would do it I guess)
Nando de Colo and Patty Mills should be available.
I don't see others easily available.

Oh and for better tanking you can shift the other Burke over to point guard.

So everybody's one hundred percent sure that machado will be cut...

Btw, bobooooaaaa (beaubois) is a more athletic version of lucas 3. No difference.

Dennis Lindsey slamming the door on Raul Neto option.

Steve Luhm: Jazz GM Dennis Lindsey says bringing Raul Neto from Spain while Trey Burke is out won't be an option. More ethical than financial.

Burks is the best option for now.

If we're going to the FA pool I'd consider Rodrigue Beaubois, Boobie Gibson, or AJ Price.

Price plays for Wolves. Played two nights ago.

Boboa is not a reliable pg.
Gibson is not even a pg. Still, i want to see him in a jazz uniform.

I must have missed it when Price got signed a couple weeks ago, I believed he was still available.

My first thought was to bring back Tinsley, or see if we could get Andre Miller for one of GS's 2nds. I would hate to give up any more than that for a temporary solution, though. But going with Burks for now is probably a better option.

I have been thinking though that if the goal this year is to develop the young players, having a solid point guard would be beneficial. Someone who could be consistant and run a solid offense would go a long way in making 'the 4' better players IMO. I've noticed over the years that a lot of teams that have made dramatic turns from bad to decent have added good point guards.

Of course, maybe the goal is to tank, and in that case, it probably doesn't matter who the point guard is.

On another note, I'd love to see us lose the 16-20 players ASAP so Corbin can start giving the core more minutes.

I agree, we need to make cuts.

I'm thinking that we sign Machado or Hudson as a 3rd point guard and then have the starting line up
Burks
Hayward
Jefferson
Kanter
Favors.

Our bench is going to be terrible but like most people have said we will have a few starters on the court at all times.

A clone of JL3 with more athletic ability and EVEN less playmaking skills.

What is the worst case scenario? The Jazz throw peanuts at a guy they don't have to play but has NBA athleticism, talent, and experience?

I agree with Kicky.

We stick with Burks. Moving him to the 1 is the best way to keep focused on the core. Sign Holliday, or McGuire(not sure what their contract status is), and give Clark a long look.

Adding another player just impedes the progress of what we have, and really doesn't accomplish anything.
I doubt we win any more games by adding any of the names mentioned.

But maybe you add an asset. Or they don't work out. No downside.

The downside is they don't become a valuable assest, they don't work out, and corbin still plays em and they take minutes from guys we want to see.

That would be the downside imo

Then it's all the more likely Corbin ends up on the chopping block.
