Corbin just wasn't in Jerry league. He tried to imitate Sloan without having Sloan's ability to motivate and manipulate.

But saying we never developed any young players under Sloan is factually incorrect. You could argue should have developed more-- I would disagree.

Bryon Russell - 3 years at long beach State - 22 years old
Shandon Anderson - 4 year player at Georgia
AK - 21 years old and had a lot of playing experience in Russia
Deshawn Stevenson - I will give him credit for. He tried with him. He just wasn't very good.
Greg Ostertag - 4 year player at Kansas
Paul Millsap - 3 year player

The point is Sloan rarely played the young guys who were prospects. These are the guys that don't have much professional or organized basketball experience. And when we had young guys who didn't have much experience we sat them. Corbin did the same.
All those players had NBA ready games and most players stayed until they were JR or Seniors in college.
Sloan didn't want to develop players. He wanted them ready now. And that doesn't work when you are trying to rebuild and you draft players who are barely have any game experience.

That is what is scary. Hood and Novak will be getting a lot of minutes and they will deserve it to spread the court. I am hoping Trey, Alec or Gordon will step up also.

I showed you a highlight from a game where he grabbed 20 rebounds as a starter vs a playoff team in the NBA last season. Your highlight reels of players overseas do not compare to that.

Hes young, plays SF and is capable of grabbing 20 rebounds in a game, and will be dirt cheap, your argument against him is piss poor.

The fact that you repeat his 66% ft percentage last year over and over, shows you dont actually know what your talking about, that was one bad year, hes always been a 70% player. Also you said he cant dribble, i watched this kid dribble circles around Greg Monroe back in highschool, hes always been able to dribble.

You want 6'8 wingspan Hayward and Hood to hold down the SF spot exclusively, thats going to be a matchup problem everyonce in a while, teams wont hesitate to play 3 guards vs Hood and Hayward at SF.

Ya the argument of not wanting a horrible outside shooter added to a team full of below average shooters is a piss poor reason......... Lol
Shooting and floor spacing is going to be a much bigger concern then worrying about particular match ups where we need a longer SF.
Your reasoning for needing him is a great one for a playoff team. Not for a team trying to develop. Floor spacing supersedes the particular times where we need a long SF.

If we had great shooters at the PG, SG or SF position playing a lot of minutes.......Awesome. Sign Aminu. Not when our team is below average at PG, SG and SF.
If you sign Aminu it takes away minutes from the only good shooters on the team. Hood and Novak.

Horrible outside shooters?

Novak was added, Rodney Hood is an excellent shooter. Burks isn't horrible, 35% over the last 2 seasons.

Hayward is a career .365 shooter from 3 despite shooting 30% last year, If the Jazz are comfortable paying him a big contract I'm sure they expect his percentage to be better than last year.

Trey Burke shot 33% but hes obviously got potential to improve.

Neither Derrick or Enes are bound to the post, both have acceptable %'s in the 10-16 foot range.

Then there's a few roster spots where you can add more shooting, I dont see why every player has to be an outside threat, Aminu is good bench player to change up the pace, his handle is sufficient for a player without much of an outside shot.

If the Jazz are getting killed on the boards, sub him in, If you need to change a defensive look against a bigger wing player whos hot, sub him in. Its not much more than that, I also disagree with you thinking he will be the same player at 28-29 as he is now at 24, Hes more than a year younger than DeAndre Kane, and hes got plenty of room for improvement, look how much Jeremy Evans has improved in the past 3 seasons.

If players don't improve their game over a 4 year span. Then I don't think they will over the next 4 years. I don't care if its from the age of 18-22 or 20-24(aminu) or 24-28. If you haven't improved in the past why would we think that player is going to improve in the future?
The biggest thing is everyone is average or below average. We HOPE Trey, Alec, Burks, Exum and Hayward improve. And we hope Hood can shoot the NBA 3 consistently.
But none of them are proven outside shooters. I really really hope they are, but its a big question mark on all of them.

And people are complaining about trading for Novak for 3.5 million a year for 2 years........................... Seriously 4's that can shoot are very valuable right now.
Novak is a steal for us. Frye is a good player but he is overpaid.
