Free Agent Rumors Thread

We know he sucked balls as a coach. It doesn't change the fact that Corbin coached the same way Sloan did. Play Veterans over young guys.
They both did it. The reason why every young player we had never developed. Deron Williams was the only one. And it took him a year to realize it.
Every other prospect we have we sat on the bench for years before giving them a chance. When they NEEDED playing time.
If your going to call someone stupid. List why you disagree. Otherwise you just look childish and pathetic.

You can't make this stuff up.

I think Corbin did what he thought Sloan did or should have done.

In reality Sloan:

-Developed AK
-Developed Byron Russell - a 2nd round pick
-Played Shandon Anderson to maximize his strengths-another 2nd round pick
-Tried to develop Deshawn Stevenson---started him, brought him off the bench whatever he could
-Developed Greg Ostertag into good NBA player
-Paul Millsap
and more..

Corbin just wasn't in Jerry league. He tried to imitate Sloan without having Sloan's ability to motivate and manipulate.

But saying we never developed any young players under Sloan is factually incorrect. You could argue should have developed more-- I would disagree.

That is a pretty good response, really.

Bryon Russell - 3 years at long beach State - 22 years old
Shandon Anderson - 4 year player at Georgia
AK - 21 years old and had a lot of playing experience in Russia
Deshawn Stevenson - I will give him credit for. He tried with him. He just wasn't very good.
Greg Ostertag - 4 year player at Kansas
Paul Millsap - 3 year player

The point is Sloan rarely played the young guys who were prospects. These are the guys that don't have much professional or organized basketball experience. And when we had young guys who didn't have much experience we sat them. Corbin did the same.
All those players had NBA ready games and most players stayed until they were JR or Seniors in college.
Sloan didn't want to develop players. He wanted them ready now. And that doesn't work when you are trying to rebuild and you draft players who are barely have any game experience.

But of course, even though he provided the very stats that you asked for, he is wrong somehow. Got it. I knew you were stupid, but you really ought to consider a name change. Think, BeanTownSalty. Nice ring, really.

As always you can't provide any substance. You just criticize. It doesn't make you smart. But I'm sure it makes you feel good about yourself. I love having discussions with the majority of people on this board. Even when someone disagrees but they provide information on the subject.
With you it's just to boost your own ego like your doing now.....

I bet it's a SF who they are keeping as a backup if Hayward gets a crazy offer.

I would bet it is Ariza.

Just read a rumor that Cleveland has been trying to get a 3rd team involved to take Marcus Thornton from the Nets ($9M expiring contract). I'm assuming Brooklyn wants Jack. If this is the case, Utah should get involved. Cleveland has multiple 2015 picks. Of course, it would only be for getting Lebron. A promise would have to be made that they wouldn't then turn around and sign Hayward to a MAX offer sheet.

Who it be???

I hope it's Parsons. He's just a better fit with the new 'Spurs' system we are implementing:

- with Burke and Exum, we have more than enough 'ball handlers' making plays, making Hayward dispensable

- Parsons is a better and a more consistent 3pt shooter compared to Hayward

- Parsons, I would argue, seems to have more 'grit and is more of a 'fighter' than Hayward

- We could probably get Parsons for a lot less than the MAX deal Hayward is reportedly getting

Parsons is a very adequate ball handler. He's excellent in the PnR.

Parsons is more of a legit 3. I think he would fit better with what we already have.
BUT the only way we can get Parsons is if Houston gets Melo or Bosh or someone around that price range.
Otherwise they sign Parsons.
Melo and Lebron need to make their decisions quickly so the rest of the NBA can move on.

IF they sign a big FA before they sign Parsons, then they can sign both, since they'll be allowed to exceed the cap for their own player. They seem willing to pay the tax. I'd bet Parsons stays. They could be legit contenders.
