Free Agent Rumors Thread

Really hoping for Stephenson to land a deal in the next 24 hours. Now that I have accepted we will be matching Hayward, I want nothing more than to see all CHA targets off the board by the time their space is freed and see them back in lottery hell next year. East is more balanced and think it wil be hard for them to make the playoffs again with the same roster. Cho has ****ed us three too many times.

It's a shame he got so lazy in his career. Had so much potential to be a great one.
Imo his biggest problem was that he didnt like contact. He settled for way to many outside shots instead of going to the hoop (and the free throw line)

I beleive that he would have been close to kobe/jordan level if he had the guts and fearlessness to attack more like those guys did

I'd like it even more if Charlotte would target every restricted with offer sheets. Next up: Monroe, after that in line: Stephenson. Would either cripple their own flexibility or at least give the matching team a lot of salary to pay.

He might not win it, but he IS a legit ROY candidate. Easily top #5.
I think he is an obvious candidate for ROY. He was a stat stuffer in SL he's a big athletic pg, and looks like he could get a lot of playing time.

who are you talking about?

Hawks are making small accusations in order to improve bit by bit, year by year. The Jazz on the other hand is searching hard for "star players" from the draft at the expense of instantaneous successes.

What? Anyway, the Jazz matching Hayward is proof that the Jazz are very much focused on instantaneous success. The read I get on the Hawks is that they're scavenging very nice pieces that allow them to stay competitive and are using that flotsam to position themselves for a big free agent signing or to pick up a real star in a trade. So, basically what the Rockets were doing but the focus shifted from drafting intriguing talents to free agent acquisitions on good deals.

I'm not sure I'd be thrilled as a Hawks fan, but the Hawks are definitely zagging with everyone else's zigs in terms of team-building and I appreciate what their doing: creating value from basically nothing.

At this point, I am just waiting for the Jazz to pick up the next mitt palacio or raja bell to take time away from our young guys so they earn their playing time. It may take me a while to get over this stupid Hayward signing. Yes, I am a little bitter right now. 35 years of this stuff.

Ariza to Houston and Gasol to Chicago.

Does Houston still match for Parsons?

Miami is going hard after Deng.

You basically did this if you get him:

Out: LeBron James

In: Luol Deng, Josh McRoberts, Danny Granger, Shabazz Napier

Plus who says they would be done making moves.

The fact that Houston started out chasing James, Bosh or Anthony and ended up with Ariza and probably Parsons on a max contract is freaking awesome.

I would love to see Miami beat Cleveland in a playoff series.

Ya I think more people will be voting for Heat next year. I have always liked Wade. I hope he can come back healthy and be effective.

They should go after Ekpe Udoh. He is an underrated big guy. Offense sucks but he can rebound and block shots pretty well. All they need from him. Let Bosh and McRoberts start. Have Udoh come off the bench.
Maybe go after Mo Williams.

And they are going after Deng also.

Mo Williams - Napier
Wade
Deng - Ennis
McRoberts - Haslem
Bosh - Udoh

They won't be contending or anything but respectable 4 - 6 seed.

Again just random thoughts. I do think Udoh is underrated though.

All teams are doing interesting deals in the free agency except the Jazz!

Anthony Morrow should have been in our radar.

That team will contend for the 1-3 seeds in the East.

Whoa! You like Wade. I thought everyone had enough of his whining to officials and never running back on D. More importantly the fact that he isn't that good anymore.
