Gobert Report > Mr. Donut

Im not even kidding

Agreed. Gobert all day long and then some. Depending on how Kanter and Burks look as starters, the Jazz could be inthe market for a PF or a SF to team with Favors, Hayward and Exum. I'm pretty sure that Alec Burks is going to do well in the starting lineup, but I'm not as sold on Kanter (even though he might have the highest upside on the team outside of Exum.)

Also agree. Jazz' biggest need may be a stretch-4 going forward. Depending on what happens in the Burks' negotiations, Hayward could either be the starting SF or starting SG after next season. So another wing might be needed in addition to Hood and Hayward.

I guess you guys missed his meltdown in the playoffs. There is more to the story than people are saying in Indy. I certainly would be leery trading for him.

I'd pass... Really big slow guys tend to age badly. He'd be broken by the time this group is ready.

Sounds like Utah may have interest in Hibbert. Depending on what indy wanted, i would be all over this.

It's a poorly written article attributed to an "SWR reporter." So not even a name attached to the article.

"The Indiana Pacers are shopping Roy Hibbert in a trade and some options for Indy are the Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz and Milwaukee Bucks and Luis Scola could be included in the deal and the team does decide to trade Hibbert, they could be looking at a first round pick in return.

The Pacers are coming into the offseason after another defeat to the Miami Heat in the finals and now according to reports, the team is shopping big man Roy Hibbert after his subpar playoffs performance. According to ESPN.com, Pro Basketball Talk and the Sporting News, the Pacers are "quietly" shopping Hibbert around the league to gauge interest and some teams interested include the Nuggets and the Blazers, who gave Hibbert and offer a sheet a couple years ago when he was a restricted free agent."

Yeah, good luck getting a first rounder in that salary dump.

Exactly. The Jazz are building a young and athletic team. Don't saddle yourself to a guy who doesn't fit because he's been an All star in someone else's system. The Pacers completely fell flat after the All Star break. I'd be leery about adding any of their guys outside of Paul George (who's not available.)

If not for his poor showing in the playoffs he would not be available. He had a bad playoff series, and yes he would be a risk. But with Hibbert and Gobert at the 5 our defensive ability would be greatly improved. Does anyone on this board watch teams other than the Jazz? I was really impressed with his defense this past year. While I agree with other posters that Gobert could be special, there is a reason Hibbert was second in voting for DPOY. And he has a better touch than Gobert.

I think he would be an upgrade over Favors, and I think his play would be complementary to Kanter's game. If we could get him for Favors I would want to do it. I think Gobert could learn a lot from his game.

Hibbert has his flaws, but I think a frontcourt of Hibbert and Kanter would be a nice upgrade. His age is a concern though compared to the rest of the Jazz squad.

He impacts the game more defensively, but I'd much rather have favors... Better fit for where we are at. I'd just show Gobert tape of hibbert... No need to acquire the guy.

My biggest concern is as big as he is... When it goes south a little health wise he'll be done.

Also I don't think he fits with any of our bigs, but I also don't buy kanter as a stretch 4/5 like many do.

Having Hibbert and Gobbert and Favors would be ridiculous from a defensive perspective. Not much offense, but by far the best defensive big man rotation in the league. Try to get into the lane and score against them.

Hibbert lacks heart. And sometimes lacks in effort. I want no part of him and his bloated contract.

I'm with you. I'd hate to have any no-heart/low effort players on the Jazz with bloated contracts. Only stupid franchises do that...

I'd take Hibbert for Kanter/Burks/Filler easily if Favors is able to make some kind of offensive leap. He probably won't though, so it would be tough to have Favors/Hibbert starting.

Favors/Hibbert would be a monstrous defensive combo though.

Did you see how poorly Hibbert played in the playoffs? I am glad you are not the GM.

You really can't believe this. If Larry Joe Bird doesn't want this kid isn't that enough of a condemnation?

I'm also supremely glad you're not part of the front office.

I think I'd do Hibbert for Kanter and GS pick and maybe even a future (2018 on) highly protected 1st but then I think about how slow and offensively inept Indy was and how he's probably not a good fit for a more up tempo style...but then I also think how Hibbert, if we can get him back on track, is a hell of a center and one hell of an asset for only giving up Kanter, the GS pick (what, 25th?) and a highly proteted 1st.
