Free Agents options

* Theo Ratliff to the vets minimum. He can play 10 min a game(more or less) and bring some length and shot blocking. He could come very cheap
*Ian Mahimni(SP) for a very cheap 1 or 2 year deal. he could also bring athleticism and shot blocking
*Sign Shaun Livingston to a cheap 2 year deal to be our back up point. Still has a lot of potential, better option than Price IMO
*Al Harrington to a 2-4 year deal. This doesn't make much sense though unless he could start at the 3
*Give Amundson some cheap 2 year deal. Gives us toughness, defense and energy. If I remember Sloan loved him when he played for us for 10 days
*Matt Barnes to a 2-3 year deal, relatively cheap. gives us a defender, decent 3 point shooter and lots of toughness. I believe he would really benefit from a system like the Jazz
*Brew Crew only if we don't match Wes' offer. Get him for 2 years maybe 2-3 mil a year and could be a great energy guy off the bench, but not starting
* Give Shannon Brown a 3 year 9-12 mil deal to be our back up point and play some shooting guard. He could bring great energy off the bench, defense and crowd dropping dunls on the fast break
*Give Rasual Butler a 2 year deal not too expensive. Decent defender, good 3 point shooter(Possible Korver replacement but with more athleticism and defense)
*Rodney Carney another cheap option. always thought when giving playing time he played good. Good 3 point shooter good athleticism, not sure about defense but better option than a Jeffers
*Roger mason, great 3 point shooter(Could be the replacement for Korver as well)
*Anthony Tolliver, could be a good back up to Milsap. Great energy guy. Very cheap option. Last 24 games put up some impressive #'s. Had 35,30,25,20,19,19,17,15,14 point games with 21,15,12,13,11,11,11,10 rebounds and had 7 games during that stretch with more than 2 blocks a game. I would love this pick up
*Ime Udoka- maybe a very cheap 2 year deal. Great defender, good 3 point shooter, didn't put up good #'s but might take a chance on a guy like this
* Earl watson- Could be a great back up for Williams. Can shoot a bit but most importantly pass the ball and run an offense. Not sure what he is commanding but I would be thrilled with him

What ya think- Get maybe 3-5 of these guys, drop Jeffers and Gaines and add Jeremy Evans and let him devolop in the D league

If you get Al Jefferson and sign Shannon Brown/Shaun Livingston; Brewer,Tolliver, and Ratliff/Ian/Amundson you have a pretty damn good team I believe

Williams/Brown or Livingston/Price
CJ/Hayward/Brown
AK/Brewer/hayward
Millsap/Tolliver/AK
Jefferson/Ratliff, Amundson,Ian/KK2 Memo is back up when he recovers

Plug in Fes if he doesnt get an offer and subtract a Ratliff or just send Kosta down to the D league again. Sign Evans to the D league along with Augustine and your set

You can't tell me that team isn't better than last years. They add a Booz replacement in Al, get a defensive center for pretty cheap, get a great energy guy in Tolliver who was a beast when he started, get a legit back up in Shaun or brown and get another energy guy in Brew Crew. That team would be much improved at defense and would have the best bench in the league. You got 3 point shooting in D will, CJ and Hayward. This is without even mentioning AK as a possible energy flying all over the place. This team would compete. What would be the downside of this team??

Thoughts?

Barnes is a possibility if we decide not to match Wesley's contract. Could sign him to a reasonable contract, I liked how he played for Orlando last season.... I know Harrington said he wants to play with D-Will but I think someone will overpay for Harrington, there is still teams with money to spend. And you think Al would take a paycut just to play with D-Will? I doubt it.

I also still like Louis Admundson, he just seems like a good fit here.

Ronnie Brewer is still an option, just don't want to get in a bidding war with Chicago, they can have him if they are willing to pay.

FA's that are probably worth a look:
CJ Watson
Patrick Mills
Javaris Crittenton
Will Bynum
Shannon Brown
Ronnie Brewer
Roger Mason
Joe Alexander
Rodney Carney
Ike Diogu
Jon Brockman
Anthony Tolliver
Joel Anthony
Oleksiy Pecherov

These names are from https://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Aq_Zy_WPm8IBXLl0UfvhX228vLYF?slug=ys-nbafreeagenttracker2010 and while I realize that some may want to make you puke, keep in mind that the Jazz will likely have to bring in some minimum salary guys. I would be fine with not bringing back Gaines and Jeffers and trying out two other guys from this list instead.
