It's all we have with Burks for this year. It's all Portland had with which to judge Lillard before deciding to give him big minutes when it does matter. Like you say pre season and summer are meaningless - that's why so many are clamoring for Corbin to give him time now - when it does matter.

Once again, Portland has NOBODY to challenge Lillard. Utah has a few guys who can play, Foye, Hayward, Carroll (I know a lot of you hate him but he is a pretty good defensive player), Burks has to beat someone out not just be given time based off what might be.

Ok, you made your point.
So why doesn't Ty give Burks 10 minutes a game to try and beat someone out?
Or should we just wait for garbage time that never happens?

Foye: 73:48
Tinsley: 44:14
Carroll: 36:46
Burks: 2:16

I agree I would like to see Burks get some play, all I'm saying is its not cut and dry that Burks needs to be playing over Foye and Carrol. I really like Burks and I would prefer it if he played but Im not calling for anyones head.

Burks is not a PG, hes not ever going to be a PG so leave Tinsley out of it, but I wouldn't mind him taking a few of Foyes and Carrols minutes and then when he proves he is a better player taking over for them.

Foye, yes. Carroll, maybe, can go either way with that one. Tinsley, heck no. This is much, MUCH worse than Sloan playing Fisher over Brewer.

I think most of us are pretty high on Burks, but I would rather see him with an AJ/Sap package for something better. I would also like to see a bit of thinning out in terms of depth so that our rotations are down to 9 guys or so. I think it would be better overall.

One thing I've noticed is the lack of cutters and ball movement when the bigs have the ball. Are they all learning from AJ? I would rather see AJ traded and see a Favors/Sap front court.

Maybe we can package Burks, AJ and Mo for an upgrade in PG, assuming there are any available.

Speaking of, maybe Corbin knows what he's doing after all. Favors and Kanter have played like crap, & we'd all be calling for Corbins head if he sat them as well. Maybe he, you know, actually sees these players in practice? Crazy thought, I dunno...

Nope he doesnt see anything in practice Burks would be avering 20 ppg if he was getting some run, Favors would be averaging .... oh wait nevermind .....
 
If anything, the current strategy is on the FO and nowhere near Corbin. Corbin has been hired and instructed to win as many games as he can with the product Kevin O'Connor has assembled. The Jazz do not have a strategy of losing some games now to potentially have a better product next season.

If you want the Jazz to develop then ask KOC to:
