Free Jazz team event on Friday.

My biggest complaint about 3-point shooting contests is how poorly the cameras cover it. Even the NBA screws this up on All-Star weekend. It isn't hard - do a wide angle where you can see both the player and the basket. And figure out how math works.
 
It's a yearly thing that the Jazz do a training camp streamed event and the stream craps out half-way through.
 
I'm so glad I didn't waste time for this. Would much rather watch our core guys play 20+ minutes tomorrow night.

I have to admit, it was not as good as I had hoped it would be. Still, with it being free and free parking it was fun enough I guess.
 
Some notes:
They stopped my wife at the door and wouldn’t let her in because she had 3 “weapons” in her purse lol. A leatherman pocketknife, mace, and this thing you put your knuckles through with sharp points on it (basically like brass knuckles but with spikes on em) so she had to go back to the car to put that stuff away.

The arena is so badass now. I went in it a couple times last year already but I’m still blown away how nice it is.

Rudy looked really good from three. Way better than I expected. Haas had an airball or two. He was the worst.
Burks seemed to be either swish or way off brick. He didn’t seem to care much and wasn’t very engaged.
Jae was way off. To the point I worry about his shooting ability (I know it’s just a dumb scrimmage). He thinks he is a great shooter though. Not sure if that’s a good thing or bad thing. In the finals he had to make 5 more shots than naz and before the clock started he was saying “easy money” then proceeded to throw up brick after brick. In both rounds he sucked but in round one he hit the final money ball and ran down the court showboating despite the fact that he sucked despite hitting that one.

Another note on Jae.... it wasn’t his turn to shoot but he was going to anyway and Locke got all awkward and then Jae realized it wasn’t his turn and moved back to the bench. Locke said “I wasn’t going to tell you to move, I’m scared of you” or something like that. It was pretty funny.

KK did a great job and looked good like usual. I really like her pants. They fit her nicely.

They all took a shot from half court and Donovan and one other dude (some dude who won’t be on the team) were the only ones to make it. Rudy was very very close to hitting it. When they were shooting the half court shots ingles was the MC and telling everyone how bad they sucked and how horrible their shots were. It was pretty funny. Burks was just playing with his daughter (about 2 years old if I had to guess) on the court while everyone was shooting from half court. Then ingles was trying to get Alec to shoot it and he was kind of ignoring ingles and ingles said “come on Alec, you can probably just dunk it from half court”. Then Alec came over to the side of the half court line ( every one else was shooting from the center of the half court line) and shot up a set jumper that wasn’t close (everyone else was running into the shot and heaving it), he didn’t seem interested. Ingles also told Alec that he could have family time tomorrow.

Exum made the most shots during the 3 point competition..... all of em ugly

At the end they were all throwing little balls to the crowd and Rubio threw one really hard from close range at Exum that tagged his back. Exum turned around to see who threw it and Rubio was playing it off and looking elsewhere and Exum had no idea who threw it. Btw exum even has horrible form just throwing the little balls baseball style. DM on the other hand has great form. You can tell he played baseball.
