@andyblarsen: Quin Snyder as he exited the media huddle: "Tell Trey he's gotta play defense!"

@DJJazzyJody: Trey Burke on new coaching staff: "I'm excited. I think they're giving us a lot more freedom." Also said defense is a big emphasis.

@DJJazzyJody: Quin Snyder was impressed with interaction on court between Dante Exum and Trey Burke on first day of practice.

@DJJazzyJody: Jazz coach Quin Snyder is impressed with Dante Exum's feel for the game. "Clearly they've done a good job of coaching him in Australia."

@DJJazzyJody: Quin Snyder's first impression of Dante Exum: "He's fast."

@DJJazzyJody: Dante Exum described the Jazz system as a "free-flowing offense."

@tribjazz: Dante Exum gets up shots at the end of practice. https://t.co/maSZ5d99b6

Enjoy!

@DJJazzyJody: Dante Exum said he's going to ask the Jazz to bring John Stockton in to work with him.

I'm curious what others thought of Exum's shooting form. I don't know if I'd say it was bad but it looked to me like it didn't come natural to him, like he basically aims the ball.

It looks pretty bad to me, not too natural... hope he can get his shot consistent though. Erik Murphy's shot looks pretty darn good.

@Tjonessltrib: Quin Snyder said defense is the key to playing time.

@Tjonessltrib: Alec Burks was here last week working out with some of his teammates....

I'm calling it here. If this guy gets some experience from Stockton on him by year 3 I see him averaging a near triple double. His IQ seems to be out of this world.

Exum's improved his shot from what i see, its more of one motion now.

Also clearly, hes releasing it a bit faster.

Found it amusing how lackadaisical Burkes response was to Gordon Hayward's return or departure. I'm curious besides Jeremy Evans who Hayword actually had a strong connection with on the team and how much influence he had on the team as a leader. I have found this very hard to gauge........

Trey probably bullied him everyday in practice wet willying him and call in him a "bitch *** white boy" In fact, the whole team prolly did.

Prolly why he wants out so bad. Poor kid. So submissive.

This has me excited as hell. Wasn't his shot one of the biggest concerns? Also this kid is smart. Both about the game and this fan base. Asking for Stockton to come in is damn smart in learning and in getting the fans behind him. Kids smart.

Good to hear about the focus on D and the way Burke and Exum worked together.

I was worried about him simply because there wasn't anything to really truly evaluate him with, but he's really endearing himself to me right now. He's bright, well-spoken and hard working. That goes a long way for me. Hopefully he can shoot a basketball too. I like his demeanor and his attitude. I had him lower on my board than others simply because I felt there wasn't enough information to risk a top 5 pick. . . but I'm feeling better and better about the selection with each passing day.

Murphy did look good. I'm really hoping that he becomes the surprise player to make the roster and contribute a lot more than we expect him to - ala Junkyard Dog and Diante Garrett.

Erik Murphy the new Erik Piatowski. Dude could shoot it.

Let him rain 3s in Vegas baby. I want to see if it's something that he can do at the NBA level off the bench eventually. Of all the guys at the bottom of the roster, he's the one that intrigues me the most. We know he can shoot the ball, but I'm also hoping that four years under Billy Donovan and most of a season under TT will have taught him something about defense as well.
