Gülenist NBA player Enes Kanter disowned by family for ties with FETÖ

Again, sacrifice doesnt mean he is going out and killing them in the name of his religion. It just means he is willing to sacrifice their support. I also somehow doubt his family is anti-Guilen. They might be saying so to safe face in Turkey, but they sent Kanter to Guilen funded private schools in America.

He also changed his name to Guilen, so that might be what he means by sacrificing his family, by abandoning the Kanter name.

Right or wrong I can admire an athlete for standing up for what he believes in.

Even if what he stands up is utter stupidity?
I wouldnt back up a guy standing for satanism for example

Guys this is not about ideology, religion, or what else. It is just politics and politics is a dirty game.
I think athletes shouldnt dive so deep in politics, which if they do they will sink in ****mud like Enes did.
I dont feel bad for him, its his own choice, but i feel bad for myself, i was screaming when he was picked by utah in draft years ago.
At least, we got rid of him, thats a good thing, i would have felt worse if he is still under utah contract.
