What's new

Game 1: Jazz vs Spurs (July 17th)

I wasn't suggesting that he's having a good game, he just seems to be getting by people more than last year. He rarely got by anyone last year. He's a half second faster and hopefully that translates into more FT's and forcing a help defender.

I don't think his problem was ever getting past people. It was more the part after.

Defense was crap the last 5 minutes. They drove to the basket, then our guys would step away from them and give them an easy 5 footer multiple times

Sorry not really coming after you or nothing, i have seen alot of posters commenting on trey looking good in each game.
But his stats have been bad in pretty much every game.

Its just kinda weird.

Wasnt trey coming into the league a shooter? WTH happened there?
I just dont like his jumper at all.
Doesnt look right to me.

What does BA mean in the box score?

I'd be beyond shocked if that happened

Perhaps flabbergasted

I think it may be best. Then, sub Hood out at the six minute mark and bring in Exum, and slide Hayward to the 3. Burke and Exum can play together for the rest of the 1st quarter, and then Burke takes a seat for the first seven minutes of the 2nd, during which Exum is the lead guard.

I think you're jokin, but it shows how many times a player "got blocked".

BA=Blocks against

I'm not commenting on how good or bad Burke was/is or anything, but just a general observation I've gotten from watching the SL. Checking the box scores seems far less indicative of how a player actually played as compared to doing it for regular season games, which is still not as revealing as watching the game.

I think the starting lineup will be what it was at the end of last season. And I think that's the best one.

I'm starting to warm up to the idea of a Burke-Hayward-Hood starting backcourt.
10 man rotation. I want to see pretty much every reasonable combination of Gobert, Favors, Kanter and Booker in the front court with Hayward, Hood, Burks, Burke and Exum as the wings and guards. Novak and Evans can take turns as the backup 3/4. Base your matchups on your opponents starters and bench and then see how the players perform in different roles and combinations. Make adjustments due to energy and injury, but go in with a plan for each of the players development in mind.

Wins and losses are a lot less important than development, experience and knowledge about each player's strengths and weaknesses in the system.

I'm loving Quin Snyder's effect on the team. They really need to go out and hire a "Shot Doctor" like Chip Engelland, but otherwise I've been happy with how the young guys have performed here in Summer League play. Wish the team would have just had the scrubs show up to Orlando so they could get some burn and not be awful in Las Vegas. Narrow things down a little bit. Use Orlando as a warm-up for Clark, Motum, Thomas, etc. and then have those guys actually support Gobert, Hood, Exum and Burke.
