Game 1: Utah Jazz @ Los Angeles Lakers, 8:30 p.m MT..Game Thread

Many of you are being rushed back to reality.

The Jazz still don't have anyone to shoot.
We still don't have a point guard.
And Al still is a mixed bag. Sometimes he scores, but his defense and rebounding sucks. Sometimes he doesn't score, but his defense and rebounding is ok. Ultimately, I think he's just one of those players, like Boozer, who will always get you between 15-20 points but doesn't actually help you in the Ws and Ls column.

If there's anyone we need to trade for a shooter, it's Al.

Package a deal of Al Jefferson to get Danny Granger.

In Bell's defense, he seems like the only Jazz player that looks like he gives a damn.

I can understand it in Favors, since that's his disposition, but guys don't seem to want to play hard.

These refs. are spectacular! It's like a Broadway production. Gasol yells at the top of his lungs and falls down like a great oaf. The crowd waits with anticipation for the whistle. Every play.

If we were playing this bad against anyone but the Lakers, it wouldn't be nearly as bad. But the fact that it's L.A. exacerbates things and makes people even angrier. The only solace is that if we play this poorly tomorrow, we're only playing as poorly as the defending champs.

If a volume chucker is the shooter you want....

Kobe, guarded by Raja. Kobe cross over, step back shoot over Bell, for threeeeeee, got it. And Raja smiles as they run back the other way.
You are blinded by your hate man.
Bell is in great shape and plays decent D on Kobe. Bell doesn't belong to be out there solely because of his offence or lack of thereof. He is useless out of a good system and stalls ball movement. But his footwork on D is great today. He was right in Kobe's face there and you know sometimes MVPs make shots with hands in their face.

Yeah c'mon refs the Jazz don't need help to look like crap and LA doesn't need help making them looking like crap they're doing that all on their own, Favors stands with arms straight up Pau flails like a bitch you can't tell me the Jazz are getting those calls the very FEW times they actually take it to the whole.

LA has more FT's in the last 5min then Jazz have all game

LOL....

Which makes this game even more dangerous.

I remember a few years back when a completely depleted Lakers team destroyed us.

I also remember the jazz in a dead heat for the playoffs losing b2b games against the tpuppies.

Until this Jazz team proves that they can win on the road against just barely decent teams, I'll be skeptical even (especially) if opponents' players are out.

So far the Jazz over the last few years have proven that they can play with a lot of energy at home... While also laying complete dumpers on the road...

Which Jazz team is going to show up? Who knows?

Hate to say I told you so... But....

I was telling same things long before the season starts, but everyone called me a Big Al hater, now it is time to face the reality i think

Jazz losing by almost 30, and Raja Bell is still in the game. WTF? give the young guys some playing time...

Harris scouting report:

Fisher scouting report:

Perhaps the Jazz could try to exploit that matchup?

Hell no!
The jazz have too much respect for Fisher to do something like that. Same with Deron when he was with the jazz. They have to pay homage to fisher

Aren't these refs great, by the way.

I guess the league wanted to make sure that the lakers didn't go 0-3

what you fail to notice is that your platitude "this team..." doesn't make any sense. Whatever this team is, it is very different from what it was, and, as a unit, is without sufficient data to make these conclusions.

Road game = tough game? Sure
This team = underdog with plenty to prove = dangerous? Yes
Lakers in chaos? yes.

Jazz win? Yes.

This team is still very much the same team we had last year.

Same coach. Mostly the same core.

Yes, we now have Kanter and Burks, but they aren't really goin to play. Our core is still basically the same.

And we're seeing the same results. Until THIS TEAM can bring it on the road, they'll never make it to the playoffs.

I don't care who you're playing, you can't suck *** on the road and score 42 points through mostly 3 quarters and expect to beat anyone.

i waited how many months for this?? ahh well, still looking forward to watching all the games, please develop the youngsters.

its bothering to watch referrees blowing the whistle every single contact
