What's new

Game 1: Utah Jazz @ Los Angeles Lakers, 8:30 p.m MT..Game Thread

CJ chucks, CJ airballs. Bell is still on the floor. Jefferson still doesn't how to guard and hogs the ball. The Jazz have no leader, no three point shooter. Evans finishes an alley oop. Same exact team as last year except, but now with Kanter looking clueless on the offense. If Ty doesn't change up his game soon, the Jazz will get blown out by the Cavaliers, T-wolves, Pacers, kings, and bucks.

The good news is that the Jazz should see a record amount of "garbage time" this season, providing the young players plenty of time to get experience and learn the offense. Whatever it is.
They seem to have run two plays tonight:

1. Pass ball to bigs 20 feet from basket, watch guards randomly run around poorly set screens, shoot off balance jumper.

2. Pass ball to Big Al in low post, avoid contact at all cost, close eyes and throw ball where the basket should be.

Oh well.. with all the youth, they're going to have to fail before they can hope to succeed. It's painful to watch, but that's the way it goes.

2. Pass ball to Big Al in low post, avoid contact at all cost, close eyes and throw ball where the basket should be.

This is all just a ploy to set up the:

3. Follow up missed Al "shot" by slapping ball back towards backboard repeatedly until other team grabs it, THEN
4. Hurry up and don't get back on defense.

I don't care if Kanter goes 1-10 every night, he needs to play 30 minutes a game. His presence on the defense end is what we've been lacking for YEARS. Even if he goes scoreless he's going to help us win games.

I don't know what game you where watching but he got abused by Gasol everytime Pau got the ball down low.

DWill had almost as many TO's as points tonight, clearly he sucks and should be traded or out right released so he can maybe get a contract in Turkey again.

Jefferson didn't play Gasol much better. Kanter is still just 19... Get off his back already. There is a learning curve for this game.

May have something to do with the fact he looks like he's about 6'8" tall.

Appears to be about 3 inches taller than Burks.

Yeah- in his first ever NBA game, against a top 3 PF/C in the NBA. God, your Anti-Kanter shtick is tiresome.

As flawed as that 06/07 - 09/10 team was, I really miss it and really am starting to think they should have tried harder to keep Boozer and Deron together a while longer. We probably won't see that Williams/Boozer/Okur type of offensive chemistry again for a long, long time. Even though they never went all the way, we had a chance at winning every game because they played as a team. This squad is playing pickup ball.
