Game 17: Jazz vs Pacers (No-Ladipo) 5:00 MT

With the schedule, you can kinda sorta forgive the record, in a vacuum.

But they’ve looked like complete dog doo far too often this year.

Bro we lost by 50 to a team under .500. I'm still not over that loss. I don't even blame the players, I blame Dennis Lindsey for thinking this is NBA 2k and that every player you have under the age of 28 just drastically improves. He knew damn well we needed more offense.

The Mavs loss is forgivable if it was a total anomaly through the course of a season.

But a week later we lose by 27 to Indiana without Oladipo?

Something is very wrong.

That's a misleading number. It could just be that when they play Royce it's when the jazz are getting their *** handed to them and Quinn has to go deeper in the bench.

Royce hasn't been very good this season regardless. He doesn't really do anything on offense besides pass up wide open shots and dribble around, and his defense hasn't been as good as it was last year.

On that note, can I just say how disappointing we've been in garbage time this year?

When you clear the bench in a 30 point game, it's supposed to be a final score of 18 or so. Our end of bench dudes get completely pulverized and the margin actually goes up! that never happens.

Boston got destroyed by us, but at least the score looked respectable for them in the end. We go from down 30 to down 50 vs the Mavs. Pacers up their lead to 27, it's so embarrassing.

Celtics shot horribly when we played them, Pacers couldn't miss. That's the primary take away I have. Turnovers next consideration.

Also we've played only the very best teams in the East, not a single match up against an outside the top 5 Eastern team. Whoever made the schedule didn't do the Jazz any favors.

LOL how many great players have been sitting when we've played?

Excuses

If an NBA team makes every shot they put up it doesn't matter who is shooting the ball

When he passes those shots it kills the offense... especially considering when he does it leads to a turnover so often.

He can't be as physical with the new rules... especially because he is not established like PJ Tucker types. He is a 3/4... not a 2/3 position wise. We don't really have minutes there, but I think of him like Draymond Green. If he is considered a 3 his shooting is awful, his dribbling is average, his passing is still phenomenal, and he is better defending bigger dudes than quicker dudes.

Royce is not being used correctly, but it isn't his fault. Jae gets all the non-Favs 4 minutes. If we would shift Favs to the bench.... start Jae and limit Favs to backup 5 only then I think Royce could get some of those 4 minutes.

Both teams shot well from deep, but jazz had 2x the turnovers

Most of the time when Royce dribbles around he gets called for travel or loses control of the ball.
