What's new

Game #22 Jazz at Clippers. 11/30/17 8:30 Mtn

Yeah, basically the offense is set up to give us 15-20 open corner threes a game, at the minimum. Thing is that there isn't a lot of teams that are going to be able to take those away from us. Just need guys who can his that shot and play a little defense.

Zombie: Was this the best game of AB's career?
Saint: nah, the Miami game
Zombie: Refresh my maladies
Saint: cuz that was against a great tem
MT: It was one of his best
Zombie: Uh. Refresh my memory.
MT: his season opener this year was also great
Saint: he scord a lot of points against the Lebron/Wade miami team one year
Saint: its the reason Wade called him the most underrated player in the NBA a couple yeras ago
Archie: MT, maybe you should buy a horse and move to the mountains and stop bothering people.
Zombie: Ohhh yeah ok gotcha
Zombie: What was that 2013?? Damn, feels like ancient history.
MT: calm down archie
MT: i think this was the game
MT: http://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore/_/id/400489233
MT: we got blown out but burks was amazing

Zombie: Lol Richard Jefferson. I thought that dude had like one or two years left in the league back then
Zombie: Still making NBA money in 2017 haha
MT: Things were such a mess then
MT: I was so frustrated that he was starting when the season was a lost cause and everybody knew this was his only year here
Archie: Calm down. Says the guy telling me to leave for saying the Jazz's offense has been more efficient since he got injured. Gtfoh.
MT: I was joking
MT: I don't want you to leave
Zombie: Yeah I understand signing guys like that to help out a mega young team but damn Burks shoulda been starting
Zombie: I legit forgot we had Biedrins and Rush on that team
Zombie: What a nightmare. How many minutes did Rush play all year 20?

People on here take a little of what someone says and translate it to mean something else to fit their weird *** narrative. It's weird, really.

I'm not going to get into that game. And I'm not going to shy away from my opinion. Saying you think player A is better/more important than player B doesn't mean you are dissing player B. It's bench talk. Maybe I'm wrong. But at the end of the season we'll have a better idea of who Donovan is. But really, how many players have come out of the gates in their career like he has? Not too many.

Hate to be the wet blanket, but this game and the previous few have done nothing to unconvince me that the correct moves for Dennis Lindsey to make are to get the most value possible out of Favors, Burks, and JJ when he returns.

None of those players are going to carry Utah to the promised land. Favors and Gobert can't co-exist, especially with Rubio at PG. Rubio's "on fire" level is shooting ~45%. The only way to open up cap space for a max player is to shed Favs, Burks, JJ and a couple of the new signees. Perhaps also renounce rights to Exum. Hood at a cap hold of ~$7M might fit. Just can't afford to keep everyone and the Jazz need at least one more true impact player (fringe all-star level).

Scoring-wise for the Jazz through 20 games only Darrell Griffith, I believe.
You can argue about his efficiency, but I think over the last few weeks we've seen a lot of improvement. And some of those misses at the rim are going in. Donovan is playing a lot more under control, IMO. Let's call it a more organized chaos.

MT: well to be fair
MT: he wasn't very good when he did play
Zombie: You're not joking. His best game was 9-2-2. Really lit it up haha
MT: Andy Larsen just tweeted out about the assists
MT: man

MT: look at the assist total and spread. That's insane.

We could be ridiculously good and it looked like that for a minute at the end of preseason, I forget who it was against though. If everyone gets confident and stays healthy... and with Don and Rudy... it could get interesting.

We don't even need ALL of the players to be on. The Rudy D will equalize the game. We just need two or three players a game hitting open shots. Quinn Snyder is a genius.

Zombie: That is nuts. I knew Oneale was passing well but I wouldn't have bet on him having 5 assists
MT: 5 players with 5 or more assists. And Favors had 4.
Zombie: I wonder how many teams have had 5 players get five assists in the same game
Zombie: Probably no-one else this year at least I would think
MT: I imagine it's really rare

Imagine Rudy at his best and Donovan at his evolved best. Are you kidding me?

I’m pretty sure DL knows we don’t really have cap space... the narrative of being able to sign someone in FA is one pushed by some in the media.

I do think we should move JJ and Favs... not like we have to but I think the rotation going to get messy when they are back.

I think we can kick the tires on who might be willing to come here while negotiating with Exum. If someone is willing to sign we could either get Ex to agree to something underneath his cap hold or waive it. If we could offload AB without attaching an asset I’d do it but if we really got desperate we could waive and stretch his salary to clear more space.

I honestly would like to make DM the primary ball handler and move Rubio... I think he’s just too hard to fit and I’m not sure he’d stay engaged as a backup. Don’t have all the answers but if we find a FA willing to sign we can get to the number we need. I don’t really see a whole lot of good options out there for us.

AB's stat line. Wow.

This game may have made him tradeable.

Pretend I just quoted everything you wrote. Presto.

Bruh I didn’t say we should trade Rudy... I just implied that he might be the reason the offense was ****...

I mean do the math... if A happened and B happened then A had to have caused B.

I mean there is no way it had to do with having a big that is shooting 50% from three, a good playmaker in the starting lineup, and playing a bunch of **** defensive teams... Right?

Tonight was fantastic, but what makes him tradeable is the good games in a row... I’m encouraged by it... but of course a little skeptical.

Yeah, I don't think we HAVE to move anyone. Thanks to Haywood, we avoided the Luxury Tax this year so we have 3 years starting next we can be over the tax. It will be better to have assets than capspace if you are the Jazz in the coming years, especially as the NBA economy cools considerably. It would cost considerably more money to get Favors like talent on the open market than just keeping Favors, and Burks, and Exum. Favors and Burks are trending upward, value wise. No reason to sell now.
