Game #25. Jazz returns to Te land of wretched hovels. Jazz at Pelicans 12/16/14 6pm Mtn

So you think we win a bunch of games if we give Burke and burks minutes to hood, ingles, exum, and clarke?

I don't care if we win or not right now. I'd take the Jazz being significantly worse off offensively if it meant the doormat defense would stop.

lol we truly are tanking. this is perhaps Burke's first game where he not only scored a lot efficiently, but also had a positive +/-. So Quin decides to play Exum more as a result. I mean I'm happy Exum got to play more today, but I still find it funny that it happened to be this game as opposed to many other prior games where it would have made more sense.

it made sense, because for a lot of the time Exum had a mismatch vs Jimmer... If there is a game when he should play a ton it is the game when Jimmer plays...

Kanter's making a real effort on defense. He's getting into a stance and keeping pace, even out on the perimeter. His movement is actually pretty good.

Dumbasses who root for losses. Yeah let's become a perennial top draft pick team and watch how our picks go to better pastures. I'd want my *** out of here to go to a team with a winning culture. This board doesn't cease to amaze me. Night losers.

There may be some truth to this. Gobert was a big part of the Jazz's success in the 3rd quarter, but he didn't get many minutes in the 4th, while Booker and Evans played.

Gobert and Kanter was our best front-court combo tonight, but they didn't play much together in the 4th.

Yeah, I feel like Kanter has gotten back to the point where he was before his injury last year. He is starting to find good offensive consistency and better defensive consistency.

Glad Exum had a big game. Our young guys played pretty good too. Maybe they weren't use to leading by such a big margin going into the fourth. Right now I'm not sure who I want to keep on the team. I think Burke could be a great back up. Kanter has been playing really good. I think Burks would be better off on the bench, just because I'd rather have a great shooter at the 2. I hope Favors can show some better defense, because he just feels like a filler role player right now.

Snyder was making offensive/defensive substitutions in the 4th with Gobert/Booker. The paint is just so clogged on our drives by our wing players when Gobert is in the game.

Yep.. glad someone will say it.

Pity that Kanter is not enough involved offensively down the strech! Hayward, Burke and Burks always taking the last shots.

Burks is shooting 37% from deep this year. He has been one of the better players in the NBA in catch and shoot situations. Still needs to pull it a bit more often, but he is definitely getting better even though his leg kicks have me shaking my head.

One step closer...

I don't agree with shaking too much the lineup down the stretch. Ok, Booker was playing well offensively but in my opinion Kanter and Gobert had to play the last 5-6 minutes and I would have kept Exum on the court at the end too.

Ok
But the poster I quoted was acting like the reason we are losing is because we are playing Burke and burks big minutes.

My point was that we are going to lose alot no matter who is in the line up

I don't want to see Ingles and Clarke. And yes, because they'd be passing to Hayward, Kanter, and Favors like the current starting guards should be doing, and they wouldn't be getting destroyed every time down the court on defense. Burke and Burks chucking and getting beat so bad on defense loses games.

edit: Did not read question carefully enough. I did not mean to imply Jazz would "win a bunch of games" by replacing Burke and Burks. I meant that playing them big minutes greatly increases the probability of us losing.

Heck, not even Hayward was involved much during the last 5 minutes. I got tired of watching Burks drive into the paint and chucking up air balls or getting his shot blocked.
